About the property

The house has been designed around a Moroccan theme using a mixture of terracotta and ceramic tiles. It comprises two storeys and has uninterrupted views across the sea. Ideal for holidays and special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. The house is in a quiet location on a no-through road. All the bedrooms are large doubles. Shops and beaches are a few minutes drive from the house. There is enough parking for two or three cars.

The sitting room is very large measuring 15m x 15m and leads into a large dining room.. It has numerous terraces facing the sea and a large infinity pool. The house is in a quiet location on a no-through road. In late 2010 we added an overspill room in the tower, reached by a spiral staircase. This has 2 couches and built-in cinema projector. The views across the sea are fabulous. We also added what can only be described as a Folly in the back courtyard. It's an impressive feature over 4 metres high and adds a lot of interest to the walled garden.

Monte de los Almendros: The house is situated on the prestigious Monte de los Almendros urbanisation approx 2 km from the beach at Salobrena. Included in the rental is access to the tennis court, small football pitch and communal pool. Although the house has its own 12 m pool. The urbanisation is probably the most admired in the region and is much sought after as a holiday destination. The views are spectacular and from the Monte you can also see the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Outside: The villa has a pool measuring 12 m x 6 m which overlooks the sea. Adjacent to the pool there is an attractive, covered barbecue area with sink and bar. To the rear there is a large courtyard graced by palms and lemon trees.

Services: The house is managed and we can arrange baby sitting, additional cleaning and even food. While you are there you can call the managers and they will advise you as to the best restaurants, beaches, taxis or anything that you may need details of. In the villa there are extensive notes about the region, phone numbers and other recommendations. There is a library of books, games and DVD's. We have British, German, French and Spanish TV. There are approximately 20 channels for each country.

  • The bathroom linked to the master bedroom has a roll top bath , wet room and two sinks. The second en suite has a walk-in shower and two sinks. Third and communal bathroom has bath/shower and two sinks. The fourth room is a cloakroom with sink and shower.

  • Two of the bedrooms are en suite. The master bedroom has a roll top bath and large wet room. All 4 bedrooms are large doubles with room for an extra bed or cot which can be supplied at no extra cost. All bedrooms have been furnished to a high quality and follow different themes such as the newly refurbished Italian Suite. We also have French and Moroccan suites. We have now added an overspill, 5tl bedroom in the tower. This is reached from the dining room via a spiral staircase. This room includes a home cinema. The master bedroom looks out on to the pool and sea beyond and the bed is positioned so that the views can be enjoyed without getting out of bed! The Moroccan suite looks out on to the courtyard which is peaceful and graced by two palm trees. The other two bedrooms have double doors that open up on to quiet seating areas. All bedrooms are downstairs and keep cool even during the hottest days. Each has a ceiling fan that keeps you cool when the nights get hot.

Notes:
The villa is equipped to the highest standards and even has an ice making machine built into the American fridge, a popcorn maker, juicer and even a portable wine cooler. This year we have equipped the barbecue area (outside kitchen) with its own equipment including a bottle fridge and a food fridge. So now there is no reason to leave the pool! We have built a room in the tower vis a spiral staircase. This is a chill-out room with built-in cinema.

The villa is on the Costa Tropical, sometimes known as Costa Granada. It is only 40 minutes from Granada and the Sierra Nevada which is ideal for skiing in Winter months. Malaga is now less than an hour from the airport.

In summer the temperatures are high but there is always a cooling breeze from the sea making it the ideal place for families during school holidays. The good weather extends to November and beyond! In fact Winter does not last long in this micro climate. It is largely thought that the Costa Tropical has the best weather in Europe. December through to February it really is possible to enjoy the sun down by the coast and the snow up in the Sierra Nevada during the same vacation break.

Salobrena old town is formed on a promontory looking out to sea. On top is an old Moorish castle which was once the holiday hot spot for the court at the Alhambra. Today Salobrena is still the place for those living in Granada and it is sometimes known as the coast of Granada.

Golf: There is an excellent golf club in Motril, only 15 minutes from the house. We can always book in advance for you.

Ski: There is skiing in the Sierra Nevada next to Granada. This is now only 45 minutes drive from the house. Between November and April you can ski in the morning and return to the house and sunbathe in the afternoon!
