About Massimo Marini

Hi,

this is Massimo Marini, Flatinrome's founder and manager.

My website (www.flatinrome.it) was built originally in 2002 with only one flat. After a few months of activities I understood that doing my job with passion, the direct management of the apartments (all the properties are either belonging to me, rented for a long term or I have an exclusive management agreement) and a good service for a moderate price are the best way to make the difference in the wide range of holiday rental websites in Rome. I provide a full property management, and my cleaning and maintenance staff ensure that each property is well taken care of.

So Flatinrome is not an agency (= no commissions !). My goal is my guest's satisfaction, and I do believe that this is possible only with direct contact guest-owner. I've also the firm belief that your referrals are the most powerful marketing tool and for the success of Flatinrome nothing is more precious than a satisfied guest.

The results told me that I was right: I achived my target in terms of guest satisfaction (check my feed back on Tripadvisor).

I'm adding more properties that give you a wider range of choices at affordable prices.

I'm hoping to see you in one of my apartments !

Sincerely,

Massimo

Fantastic flat, great location, wonderful mgmt

We were so fortunate to find Massimo's Flatinrome Trastevere properties on line. We rented Trastevere E, which was a 1 bedroom flat on ground level of this building. It was actually quite large with a well appointed kitchen, sofa, table with four chairs. The bedroom was well sized with a huge wardrobe and a nice tiled bathroom. It was our home away from home. Massimo was super responsive, organized and professional with every correspondence and request. He provide a wonderful and extensive Rome guide that helps us successfully navigate Rome transportation, find shops, restaurants and fit in more like a local. His associate, Patrizia met us at the flat the first day. She sat with us and gave us all her favorites and great suggestions outside of the "traditional tourist" sites of Rome. We used her suggestions and highlighted map to supplement our plans and had some wonderful Roman moments because of it. The locations was ideal. All the sites were in walking distance (30 minutes tops)and then we got to come home each night to "our new home" and the wonderful neighborhood of Trastevere, which was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Rome center. The rooftop terrace was a nice touch and we sat up their several times to read and relax. Head's up that there is a very steep stairway from the upper floor to the roof. Just take it slow! We were fortunate to meet Massimo as well just outside our flat one night. We couldn't figure out the TV and he came right in and helped us! Overall, the flat, Massimo and Patrizia were amazing. We would recommend this or any of Massimo's properties to anyone!!!

Flatinrome - Trastevere E Apartment review

  • 2 of 5

Just on the edge of the 'touristy' part of Trastevere our apartment was well located. The historic centre is a very short tram ride or 10-15 minute walk away. Trastevere is a great area to stay in Rome. We had the ground floor 'Trastevere E' apartment, useful for those with mobility issues. The front door is very secure and you feel safe. Wifi connection despite a couple of hiccups was very solid. Parking out front is possilble, we got a space, but not guaranteed.

The welcome from Patrizia was very warm and informative, she can help you a great deal with the city. There were also books and magazines there to help you plan your time.

For 2 people there was ample space. The kitchen had a good range of utensils for home cooking - many more than the average places we have stayed in. The top-loader washing machine was very useful. There was a free safe. The TV was ok, and a stereo was also provided.

There were problems being in a ground floor flat. The water table in Trastevere is high, there was always a feeling of 'damp' in the apartment like it had not been aired. We were not impressed with the work of the cleaner. There was also a small problem with cockroaches (only a couple a day, NOT an infestation). With no window on to the street (small side windows in each room - no mosquito netting) the apartment is also dark. Massimo the owner was as helpful as he could be with all our problems, and seems to care about his tenants. However we still didn't enjoy our stay as much as we hoped. We don't think his cleaner lives up to his standards. and the damp feeling could only be got rid of with a de-humidifier in the apartment in our opinion, this would improve the feeling staying there enormously.

We did not check out the rooftop balcony.

Overall, a well located, good sized apartment with a lot going for it. However we would not personally stay here again.

Owner's Response: Hi Steve, Thank you very much for your review. I am happy to confirm that no more “feeling of damp”” In this apartment is now a real electronically operated dehumidification and ventilation system. I also changed the cleaning staff and cleanliness is now back at my usual standards. Negative feedbacks are hard to accept, but more helpful than good ones …

The apartment was as described, recently refurbished, a good size, it was clean and had everyting necessary for a holiday let. Patrizia met us on arrival she was very helpful and enthusiastic. She recommended things to do, places to eat and drink. She was very helpful to us and all of her recommendations were spot on. The location was perfect, close to transport links and restaurants and bars, we ate out every night and were able to walk to restaurants. I would definitely recommend the apartment and hope to revisit it in the future.

The apartment is recently renovated and as described. It would be a tight fit for 4 adults but it was perfect for the two of us. Massimo was exceedingly helpful and provided us with excellent information including some good local places to eat. The rooms were clean and tidy and all equipment was a good modern standard. We would definitely recommend this apartment and wished everywhere we stayed was as good.

Trastevere Complex is in the very centre of Rome. We usually consider the historical centre from Vatican (East end) to the Coliseum (West end). The historical centre is just 3km (less than 2 miles) from one end to the other and all the sites (Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Campo de'Fiori, ecc.) are in between. Trastevere is 'in the centre of the centre', so more or less 1.5 km (or less than a mile) from everywhere.

Trastevere is also one of the best places in the Eternal City to spend your evenings, as it offers a diversity of cafés and restaurants, scattered throughout the picturesque cobble stone streets. The name of district comes from Latin: trans Tiberis, over the river Tiber. The river bends and in between is this nice district. It used to be the working class area: Romans used to cross the river to go and work in the citynow it is the district“alla moda”
