Monovar is a small but vibrant town deep in the Vinalopo Mitja countryside, famous for its red wines. Many of the monuments left by Arab conquests in the 8th and 13th centuries can still be seen, and there is a prominent Roman influence to this day.
The climate of Vinalopo Mitja is sensational. Cloudy skies and rain are very uncommon, regardless of the time of year, and yearly average temperatures are a staggering 17°C. During July and August, you can experience temperatures of 40°C on occasion, although the usually remain in the mid 30’s. The winter months remain wonderfully mild too.
