Mljet has some very beautiful scenery and includes a national park which encompasses three salt water lakes. For cities, Split is a couple of hours to the north and accessible by hydrofoil. This is an ancient city and is often forgotten in preference for Dubrovnik, to the south, and a 2 hour drive from your accommodation in Viganj. Dubrovnik’s old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and very beautiful, and is well worth the visit.

Viganj, like the rest of this Dalmation Coast area, has a Mediterranean climate.
