Torre del Mar lies on the Costa del Sol, 30km east of Malaga, and is surrounded by lush agricultural land growing sugar cane, mangoes, avocados and kiwi fruit. The town is a premium coastal resort with a huge sandy beach flanked by a wide promenade set to a mountainous backdrop. There is a strong Spanish flair in the town, with some excellent traditional restaurants and local craft shops.

On the other end of the 4km beach is the Marina of Caleta de Velez, from which almost every water sport you could wish to try can be practiced.
