Todi, Italy, is a hill town in Umbria with a very long history. Dating back long before the Roman Empire, Todi was founded in 2,700BC by the Etruscans, and many fascinating monuments from throughout the ages can still be seen today. Todi is a fashionable town for tourism, which despite its ancient roots has a fairytale medieval air.
The main square in Todi, the Piazza del Popolo, is regularly described as the archetypal medieval piazza, and the best example to be found in Italy, and rightly so. The focal point, the domed Cathedral, which stands at the top of a flight of wide, stone steps, is a beautiful place which hides a number of interesting artefacts, which makes it well worth exploring from a Todi holiday rental.
