Sveti Vlas (St. Vlas) is one of Bulgaria’s favourite beach resorts for families, situated just 5km from the famous Sunny Beach on the coast of the Black Sea. In recent years, the resort has undergone serious modernisation, and now the hotels and rental apartments in Sveti Vlas are both luxurious and scenic, taking advantage of the stunning views both across the sea and of the forest covered Balkan Mountains. Sveti Vlas, Bulgaria, has gained a reputation as a healthy resort, as the natural surroundings are just that; natural.
There are three beaches at Sveti Vlas with a combined length of around 2km, and there is plenty of space to find a spot for your towel. There is a large range of water sports available from the main beach, including jet skiing and windsurfing.
However, it is the luxurious sporting marina which has captured the imagination of holiday makers taking self catering accommodation in Sveti Vlas. It has all the facilities to allow you to have a glorious sailing holiday, whether you are passing through on a longer trip or have arrived at a Sveti Vlas villa hoping to charter a yacht for a few days. There are plenty of opportunities to hire a boat, or even buy one as there is a professional team of consultants based at the marina.
In the centre of the village are a magnificent range of cafes, restaurants, shops and a couple of excellent bars, although for a large night out, it is only a half hour walk along the coastal path to Sunny Beach. The village also holds spa and massage facilities if you feel like being pampered whilst on holiday.
Sveti Vlas’ neighbour, Sunny Beach, is just 5km down the coastline. It is by far the livelier of the two resorts, and if you are looking for a large night out or slightly broader range of facilities, a visit to Sunny Beach will provide the perfect solution. Sunny Beach also boasts over 8km of sandy beaches and from the beach you can participate in almost every sport imaginable, from parasailing to jet skiing. This is a resort which never sleeps, and has grown to be the biggest beach resort in Bulgaria.
A few miles further north is the historical town of Nessebar. It is a great place to visit from an apartment in Sveti Vlas, and gives you a real taste of Bulgarian history and culture.
During the summer, average daily temperatures remain around 30˚C, which is ideal for a lazy day on the beach, and water temperatures are remarkably warm, ranging between 25-28˚C.
You can reach your Sveti Vlas holiday rental very easily. A quick flight from one of 12 British airports direct to Bourgas International Airport (BOJ) will leave you just 20 minutes away from the resort, and there are plenty of busses running to Sveti Vlas.
