Things to do
-Beaches: Over ten miles of sandy beaches line Marco Island's western edge, often cited as some of the best beaches Florida has to offer. Other more secluded beaches can be found on many of the hundreds of surrounding islands, accessible only by boat, making Seaview Marco Island rentals perfect for that beach holiday.
-Nature: Hundreds of deserted islands, innumerable coves, islets, lagoons and rivers typify this stretch of coast where the Everglades meets the Gulf of Mexico. This unique habitat literally swarms with wildlife. Seaborne adventures await, as does the intricate tapestry of ecosystems that make up the iconic Everglades.
-Watersports: Marco Island itself is awash with waterways, both natural and man-made, creating what is essentially a Venice-like latticework of canals. Therefore boating is second nature here, so marinas are numerous and conveniently located. Any watersport imaginable is available, as variety is a competitive edge in drumming up business.
-Shopping: Marco Island's resident population are wealthy and mature, and they demand pleasant locations in which to spend their money. Local businesses fulfill this need by creating diverse and eclectic shopping centres, like the Marco Town Centre Mall, and the Marco Walk Shopping Centre.
-Golf: Marco Island's proximity to Naples, 'The Golf Capital of the World', means some of the best courses Florida has to offer are literally a few minutes' drive away. With over 80 courses to choose from, there's something for every age and ability.
Weather in Seaview Marco Island
Florida's subtropical climate means there's a wet season and dry season, rather than the four seasons of more temperate regions. The most rain actually falls in the summer, usually as afternoon and evening thunderstorms, a consequence of the humidity arising from the watery environment. Temperatures don't actually get that hot during the summer, topping out in the mid-30°C range, but the humidity can add an unpleasant edge. Winter is the dry season, and is therefore the most popular time to visit. Temperatures during the winter match British summers, usually maxing in the low-20s.
Travel to Seaview Marco Island
Unless heading to New York or possibly Chicago, travelling to America and not driving will likely kill a holiday: public transport is that bad. Far better to fly in and hire a car, and the most convenient airport for that is Southwest Florida International Airport, 47 miles to the north. This is a North American hub, however, and has no direct UK flights. For that option, Miami International is the best bet, at 120 miles away. Though that may seem far, the roads are excellent, petrol is cheap as chips, and the drive is through the Everglades.
