Breckenridge ski resort, often known called “Breck”, is in the Rocky Mountains in south central Colorado. With superb snow conditions in winter, it is hugely popular as a ski resort while in summer it offers hiking and outdoor activities.

In the summer it hosts a popular Fourth of July Parade and the Breckenridge Film Festival. The Father Dyer Church is well worth a visit along with the Mountaintop Children’s Museum nearby. In the summer, wine lovers can visit some of the 70 wineries in the area at Montrose, Palisade and Hotchkiss.

In winter the temperatures drop to 0°F (-19°C) from late November to April, giving the area plenty of deep snow for winter sports. Breckenridge has a high-alpine climate with an elevation of 9,600 feet (2926m). The wettest month with the most rainfall is July with 1.75 inches (44mm). Showers decrease throughout the summer and autumn and in winter the area has around 163 inches of snow.
The main airport serving holiday rentals at Breckenridge Peak 9 is Denver International (DEN) Airport which is about 104 miles from the resort. This busy airport is served by a number of airlines including American Airlines, JetBlue, British Airways, Lufthansa, Delta and Iberia Airlines, among others. It is easy to drive to Breckenridge by heading west along the I-70 to Hwy 9. Other local airports in the area for connecting flights are the Aspen-Pitkin County (ASE) Airport near Aspen and the Eagle County Regional (EGE) Airport at Eagle, Colorado, 63 miles away.
