This world Heritage Site is focused upon one of the largest abbey ruins in the UK. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the towering Huby’s Tower stands 172 feet tall. Don’t be put off by the term “ruin” – there are beautiful cloisters, the refectory and the nave to explore before heading for the Georgian water gardens.

Harewood House

This impressive stately home is located about 7 miles from Harrogate and is a member of the Treasure Houses of England. A guided tour will reveal a splendid interior with furniture by Thomas Chippendale and a host of beautiful state rooms full of antique treasures and artworks.

Harrogate is easily reached by car via the M1 which runs just 6 miles east of the town. Harrogate is also on a main railway line with rail links all over the country. The station is located just ½ a mile from the town centre.
