Girona
The Old Town of Girona offers a pleasant place to stroll with plenty of historic buildings. The Passeig Arqueologic is a fascinating flight of steps along the old city walls with great views of the woods, trees and parks nearby. The city has many small museums but the small gardens such as Jardins John Lennon, Jardins de l'Angel and Jardins d'Alemanys are fragrant, quiet and colourful. The Church of Sant Nicolau is a 12th century funerary temple built in Romanesque style and the oldest church in the city, Sant Feliu Church, has 4th century catacombs.
Besalu
The 10th century town is totally idyllic with its crooked 11th century fortified bridge which has wonderful scenic views down the valley. It is a truly magical place which is ideal for strolling around the shops or dining at the quaint restaurants.
Figueres
The town of Figueres is well known for its famous son Salvador Dali who was born here. It is now the home of the Dali Museum and provides a unique and interesting display of his works.
