The Western Cape weather generally has warm, dry summers and mild, moist winters. The wettest month is usually June with an average of 93mm rainfall. The warmest months are January and February with an average temperature of 21 degrees centigrade, whilst in June, July and August the average is approximately 13 degrees centigrade.
Visitors can fly to Cape Town International Airport (CPT), which has flights to and from various cities including Amsterdam, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, London and Singapore. There are seasonal flights from Frankfurt and Munich in Germany. Passengers will then need to get a connecting flight to George Airport (GRJ), which is approximately 65 kilometres from Knysna. Numerous car rental firms are located at the airport including Avis, Budget, Europcar, First Car Rental, Hertz and Tempest.
