An idyllic spot for a family getaway

5 of 5
I booked The Granary for a short break with a friend and between us we were 2 adults, 6 children ( ages 6 to 11) and 2 dogs. The house was a perfect size with a wonderfully spacious and well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a huge sitting room. We thought we would have to entertain the children but they spent the whole 3 days building dens near the stream at the bottom of the garden, bouncing on the trampoline and putting on plays with the dressing up clothes in the large games room. We also walked up Devils Dyke from the house and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the nearby Shepherd and Dog. It could not have been more perfect. I would highly recommend this property and the owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Beautiful, rural, friendly family

We had a really good stay. The weather wasn't too friendly, but the owners of the cottage more than made for that. They were so friendly and helpful, we didn't care about some minor problems: everything was fixed. Absolutely worth going to!!

Brooklands Barn - New Years Eve 2009

5 of 5
A group of friends and I decided to book Brooklands Barn for 3 nights over the New Years Eve weekend. As it was also my husbands birthday we arranged for some of our friends to get there early as a surprise. 'Wow' was the first thing I think a lot of us said when we pulled up the driveway. The converted barn was everything we hoped it would be and more! Lovely underfloor heating downstairs, a huge dining area for us to congregate and eat together, a kitchen that had a large amount of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment, a comfortable and cosy living room and it's only private pool - just for us! The bedrooms were all extremely comfortable and warm with their own LCD televisions (not that we used them much) and mostly with ensuite facilities. Beautiful views and walks on the doorstep and nice pubs. I would definitely recommend this for large families or group of friends like us looking to get away together. The owner was extemely friendly and helpful, close by if we needed anything, but also happy to leave us to our devices. I would thoroughly recommend Brooklands Barn. It would be nice to go back in the summer time to make use of the huge patio area where we did also spy a barbeque!
