Lovely house that is both grand and welcoming.

4 of 5
Our family has stayed at the Old Rectory each summer for the past 3 years. We keep going back as the house is large enough to hold all 20 something of us throughout the week and the kitchen/dining room/lounges/playroom feel massively spacious. The grounds are also excellent for all the children and teenagers wanting to play outside whilst the oldies can sit on the patio soaking up the fresh air. Locally there are lots of lakes for swimming, water sports etc. We all especially like visiting the little local produce stall next door for our freshly grown fruit and veg. During our last visit I also managed to leave behind our baby monitor and the owners happily abs helpfully packed it up and sent to us free of charge. We will go back for many years to come I imagine.

Amazing weekend in a warm comfortable house

We had a great weekend celebrating our wedding at Pettistree House with 24 guests, bedrooms and bathrooms were all great, reception rooms were well decorated and everything you needed was thought of and more

New Year Break 2009/10

4 of 5
The house was very comfortable and welcoming, but as the heating was timed it did get a little chilly in some of the bedrooms during the night due to the freezing cold weather, luckily I had my hot water bottle! The accomodation downstairs was plentiful and we managed to have the kids in the TV room and keep an adults relaxation room with the log fire. Bliss.... Location was fantastic, literally minutes to the beach and shops. We had a Waitrose delivery we booked online delivered just after we arrived, parking however was a little inconvenient as we were 2 families and one car had to park on the sea front, probably not a problem for those without kids or when it is not snowing! Kitchen equipment and crockery etc plentiful, but hob could do with updating dont expect to be able to cook haute cuisine but plenty of places to eat our locally including The Lighthouse within 2 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend, although warn parents with young children about the stairs, we took a stair gate which we used in the corridor as the stairs were too wide for it be used. We enjoyed our stay and hope you will too.
