Family fun in Arran

5 of 5
Just had a super long weekend at Banlicken, 3 families, 3 nights. Banlicken was perfect. What an adventure the children had from the start, opening the gates and through the ford. Such excitement. The house was super, we all had our own little area to sleep and retreat to if needed. We cooked up some great meals in the large well equipped kitchen, sat around the cosy fire in the living room, reading, board games, and rugby for the men!! The children had the playbarn to work off some energy. A walk down to the shore with fantastic views and a very pretty sunset. Perfect.

High Quality Barn in Fantastic Location!

5 of 5
Spent a week here at Incheoch Granary during half-term week in February 2015. Truly wonderful & highly recommended experience! Situated in a gorgeous and accessible part of Scotland. Not to far from the small town of Blairgowrie and the city of Dundee. A car is a must to fully appreciate the locality. There is a great waterfall just a few minutes away and there are beautiful country lanes to drive along. For walkers there is the famous Cateran Trail. We spent a couple of days skiing at the Glenshee ski resort which is just a 45 minute drive away. The barn itself is located on a working farm so expect the the odd tractor passing by from time to time (which never ceased to delight our kids!) Debbie, the owner, is a wonderful host - available for information or help on the local area if needed but very respectful of holidaymakers privacy. Many thanks for the eggs and the delicious chocolate cakes on arrival! The barn itself is perfect for a family (there's 2 adults and 4 kids under 12 in ours). Very spacious and exquisitely decorated. It was warm and very comfortable - truly a home-from-home. Three bedrooms with comfortable beds. A large family room and a smaller sitting room with games and books (it's where we exiled our children!) Airy, with stunning views, one of the bedrooms faces due north so if your lucky you may get to see the Northern Lights from your bed! Downstairs has a sliding patio facing east so if you're an early riser experience the amazing sunrise over a hot cup of coffee. Kitchen is comprehensively equipped with all mod-cons but there are leaflets and information on local pubs and restaurants too. All in all a five-star experience - it was everything we wanted from a short break. We definitely will be back.

Wonderful cottage, perfect holiday spot!

5 of 5
We loved staying in this beautiful, cosy farmhouse! The rooms are very comfortable, with lovely furniture and very clean. There was plenty of space for the two of us but it would easily accommodate a family. The kitchen had everything we needed, the log burning stove was perfect for our winter break, and we will return in summer to make use of the private garden! The off-road parking is ideal and the cottage has great views across Inverness. Shops, takeaways and a local pub are all within walking distance. The owner is extremely helpful and made us very welcome. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit inverness!
