Perfect, no, even better than that...

5 of 5
Arrived for a weekend away in January with 2 discerning friends. Before we arrived, we received some wonderful tips for things to do in the area which were beautifully written and so the romance began... The cottage was well placed, very near the front and shops/eateries. It was so beautifully furnished and presented we instantly felt relaxed and enjoyed the serenity it offered. We spent a good half hour just walking about saying to each other 'and have you seen this pot/mirror/cupboard/bedlinen - it's gorgeous'. Little touches like fab coffee maker, Cornish Cider stash, bath robes, the pre-loaded ipod made it so lovely we didn't want to go out. My top tips for a Sea Swallow stay: bring enough nibbles/plonk/bread n cheese to keep you going for a few nights, enjoy lazy mornings, lovely walks, fab shops and beachcombing in the day and get back early for a bath, G&T and a read of the paper. In short, Me: 'I wonder if I could send for the children in about a week'; Val 'I'm staying'; Sid 'It's Lush'. Oh, and Fowey's not bad either.

The Old Sawmills - somewhere quite special

5 of 5
The Old Sawmills and its location are both wonderful. Together they provide the perfect environment and backdrop to enjoy more important things in life such as nature and good friendships. We departed reluctantly, but feeling refreshed and charged by such a positive experience. I hope to return.

For exceptional holidays in an authentic village

5 of 5
Cornwall has changed but at Golant and in this old restored Boat House we enjoyed a really nice week far from crowded beaches. Judith had prepared a nice tea with pastries for our arrival from France. The rooms are decorated with taste and are very comfortable. Every day the river Fowey just across the narrow road and the activities of the rowing club offer pleasant interludes following the movements of the tides. When we wished to rest after our trips to the north or south coasts, the small flowery terrace in the shade beside the house was ideal particularly because we had such a sunny weather throughout. We above all enjoyed driving on the narrow winding roads of Cornwall and trekking above the sea up and down the never-ending footpaths. From Golant, the pictureque ports are all within short distances and worth visiting. In Fowey 7 miles away, we could do our shopping. To put it in a nutshell, we loved such exceptional surroundings. Just a warning advice though: the Boat House is not to be recommended for people with reduced mobility and young chidren must be kept under constant supervision particularly when the tide is high and when the water floods the road up to the house. .
