We used this property for a pre-Christmas family gathering. We were a party of 9 adults and 4 children (ages 1.5, 2.5, 6 and 10). We chose to stay here because of the space available and the location and we were not disappointed by either. The booking was well handled by Tony, the owner, who was extremely helpful throughout. Nothing too much trouble, even supplying an extra cot to meet our needs. The property is very well equipped with everything you need. Plenty of games and activities for children. We did our own catering during our 3 night stay and the kitchen had everything we required. It was great to be able to have everyone round the dining table in the dining room which is adjacent and open to the kitchen. The lounge is a large square space with plenty of comfortable seating for everyone. The children enjoyed looking out of the windows to see rabbits and the occasional peacock outside. Bedrooms are of a good size and 3 have en-suites. Bedding, towels etc are plentiful and clean. The property is set in 20 acres of grounds so there is plenty of room to stretch your legs and for children to play. Some of us walked into the village of High Halden which is about a mile and a half away, but worth it for a drink at the excellent Chequers pub. Some of our party found it a little difficult to find in the dark, but this was a minor issue really. Tony did say he would revise his directions slightly and maybe improve the entrance lighting.
