We had a wonderful weekend at St Lawrence Manor celebrating a birthday with special friends. The house was a fantastic venue with more than enough room to accommodate us all (18). The games room came into its own on the first night with people arriving at different times, the bar, pool & table tennis table was ideal for gathering, chatting and catching up in a relaxed and informal way. On the Saturday night the dining room with the large table came into play, seating us all with room to spare. Cantina in Ventnor did a wonderful job of catering for us all with a delicious celebratory meal. The kitchen and large cooker played its part on Sunday (the morning after!) with a lazy brunch for the bleary eyed! with the lounge to chill and read the papers; and for those still standing the pool and table tennis table still beckoned! My concern was that the house would be chilly, but it was toasty and warm and in fact we turned the thermostat down on occasions, there was also lashings of hot water for showers. Thank you Stephen from Rentamanor for all you help. We just need to find an excuse to book again!

My family and I get together annually and we chose the Isle of Wight as our destination this summer. Rocklands Manor caught my eye as the most incredible looking self-catering accommodation on offer and we were not disappointed when we arrived at this huge mansion house all to ourselves! We have never stayed anywhere with a proper bar and full size gentleman's snooker room other than in a hotel (and we much prefer having a holiday house to ourselves) -- we spent the first evening acting Lords of the manor between the ball room, bar and billiards table while the children entertained themselves playing table tennis close by. The swimming pool area at Rocklands Manor is unbeatable as far as I am concerned -- the sun was blazing for our stay and with the retractable enclosure rolled back it provided a shaded, open conservatory style lookout for my elderly parents to sit and happily watch the rest of the family splashing around in the pool or relaxing on the sun loungers. The big barn next to the pool was also comfy and handy for changing in. Everything about Rocklands Manor is grand and impressive -- such an experience staying in this place. Even the information manual looks grand and is really useful and provides fun facts about the local area and history of the property which I thought was a nice touch. I could go on and on raving about this property but suffice it to say it had everything we need and more in a holiday home and we will certainly be returning again in the near future. Highly recommended for families looking for a special location to enjoy time away together. Thanks again, D
