Peaceful

5 of 5
Had a relaxing time and look forward to coming again. Ideal to take in the views whilst reading a good book or for exploring the nature reserve and great beach. If you want to go further afield best you don't expect much from Jaywick, Seawick or Clear Point though. We miss the great view, birdlife and stars at night.

Fantastic home, GREAT location, HIGHLY recommended

5 of 5
We spent 3 months at this property while my husband was doing a sabbatical semester at the University and I was working remotely from my job in the US. Our twin boys were 4. It's a very comfortable and functional home and we had a great stay. Youseph was a great, prompt, attentive and approachable landlord. The kitchen was well stocked and we did a lot of cooking while there. The location was AMAZING. Castle Park is beautiful and the Castle Park Playground, right behind the house, is the biggest, most amazing playground we've ever seen. The downstairs closet was very well stocked with balls, Frisbee, an awesome marble run toy that our boys (and we!) loved to play with. There was a selection of DVDs as well. The washing machine and dryer were very convenient, and when we arrived the house was well stocked with soap, detergent, etc. When the dishwasher broke, Youseph had it replaced immediately. The dining room has a French door to a path that leads to the backyard, and there is also a door at the back of the kitchen to the yard. There is an adorable little sun-room (conservatory, I guess?) outside. I sometimes took conference calls from the backyard- WiFi reached out there and was pretty good throughout the whole house. We found the beds perfectly comfortable, and plenty of sheets. Decent storage space in the bathrooms in medicine cabinets and under the sink. The only negative thing I might mention about the house was that there wasn't much art on the walls, which made it feel a bit barren when we first arrived. We ended up hanging a lot of the "art" our boys made in school, which made it homer. The front room has only a small rug and leather couches (plus some handy side tables and a display cabinet), which made it feel less cozy at first, but the plus side of leather couches in a rental is you don't wonder what's hiding in the fibers. We did end up spending a considerable amount of time in the room, working on laptops and watching TV. I can't say enough good things about the location of the house. The street is lovely, there's a great local pub right at the end, and Castle Park and the High Street are an easy walk. You can also walk to the train station for easy access to London. (9 min walk to Colchester town, slightly longer to Colchester where you can get the express train.) Also easy walking distance are many museums, cafés, restaurants, etc. All in all, a great place! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to a friend!

Couldn't ask for a better location !!

5 of 5
Where do I begin, there was 9 of us in total ranging from 2 years to 66 years, and we all were catered for, Sara has lovely spacious house in fantastic spot, the rooms are light, airy and comfortable, beautiful beach a stones throw away, which has a cafe/ice cream hut on it, this has been there since I was a little girl, so brought back some lovely family holiday memories. The view from the living room & top bedroom is stunning, woke up every day feeling relaxed and well rested, due to the comfy beds and of course the location. Hearing the sea while in bed and eating has such tranquil qualities that you don't get in a hotel, Even with 2 days bad weather it never stopped us enjoying our holiday. Having 2 bathrooms is a great advantage, especially when coming back from the beach and getting ready to go out. The utility room is so handy for storing bucket. Spades, shoes etc, the outside garden is also a added bonus The house was clean and tidy, which shows they do care for there home and for the guests coming to stay there. Jaywick has a several shops, public house, takeaways, arcades, (which are 2 minutes walk) the local Chinese do meal deals and the portions are very generous and tasty, they also deliver if you don't want to walk !! But Tesco & Asda online also both do home delivery A taxi into Clacton is roughly £10 that was for 8, which is cheaper than the bus as this is £2.60 each, each way A slow walk into clacton takes around 45 minutes, going along the sea wall, which has cafes and bars along the way !! If travelling with children & going to the arcades, I would suggest the Pavillion Bowl arcade which is next to the pier, by far the best value, and the staff are Very good with stuck prizes!! Bowling on the pier after 6pm is only £1 PPPG The Owner is one in a million, so helpful, kind & accommodating, which is a quality not found in everyone Thank you Sara for a fantastic holiday Can't wait to go back again and have already recommended to family & Friends
