A fantastic family or group accomodationn

5 of 5
August '14 We stayed as a multi-family group of 10 adults +3 under 3years. We found the location, facilities all excellent. A a family base/home its offers very flexible options re-bedroom and bathroom arrangements. The kitchen/dining area was more than adequate for our needs with another more formal dining room available. I had misjudged the hot tub as being likely to be hardly used. How wrong was I! Straight back from the beach, or cycling (Camel Trail), it was used, every day, by everyone to relax, showers or sunny evenings! 5 cars, no problem parking. Location for nearby Padstow excellent. Very short walk to excellent village pub (vg meals at reasonable prices) Booking and communication all easy and further enquiries promptly. Shopping at large local supermarket. The I can strongly recommend Manor House to family groups. As an ex outward bounds teacher, I was frustrated to see all of the onsite equipment but we were not (insured) allowed to use it. As a self-catering centre it would be a brilliant base for both adults and children

Fantastic location and great house

5 of 5
This is an iconic property literally on the edge of the cliff. The facilities are very good and the rooms comfortable and well equipped. The drive down to the property is lovely in good weather but requires strong nerves in poor visibility but have faith there is turning space as you round the corner by the house. The views from every room are amazing and if the weather accommodates the terrace is a lovely place to sit. The kitchen has an aga which provides hot water and cooking and is a delight, cooking either steadily or rapidly. There is also a conventional gas hob if the aga doesn't suit. The house provided everything we needed and is better equipped than most holiday rentals. Free wifi was appreciated as were the working fire places. Stylish Cornish Cottages, the letting company, are excellent and communicate very well, nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely stay again. Just a couple of things to think about before you book. The house is on the cliff edge so wandering children and pets are at risk! The bedroom configuration needs consideration as 4 single beds are in one room and the occasional bedroom is very occasional. Having said that the two double bedrooms are ensuite and fantastic and the 4 single bedded room is at the top of the house and a great place for younger folk. The walking in this part of the world is great and the beaches offer a plenty of variety. The trek down to Rinsey Beach is challenging but worthwhile. A lovely place to stay.

Family Holiday - 4 Generations

5 of 5
For an 80th Birthday, our family was able to find a holiday home to fit everyone's needs. There were no fights over the bathrooms as the was one per bedroom and for those unable to use stairs, there was a downstairs bedroom with en-suit and walk in shower. Everyone noted how beautiful the manor was and how comfortable their beds were. The rooms upstairs were far from the living room and bar, so noise was minimal. The fireplace was a nice treat as well as a large, comfortable living room. The highlights were the Aga, piano and the cosy bar, big enough to fit in the whole family. The children were kept occupied with the games room and if anyone wanted to get away, there were TV's in most of the rooms if not the large garden, hot tub, books, games or short walk to the village as well. Would highly recommend a car to get there and be able to visit the main Cornish attractions within an hours drive away. The walk to the village from the Manor was a good exercise but it was well worth the scenic route. The fish and chips was delicious, as well on the local scones and jams! The bonus points was the local bakery (Cornish cakes) who made us a custom cake to pick up on the way and Tesco's delivered to the manor. There was a large tall fridge and separate tall freezer, so little hassle with the food. Great treat for trekkers and in-house relaxers alike. It was a holiday trip the whole family enjoyed. Thank you for making the stay most welcome and making the whole process easy as pie! p.s The kitchen is well equipped and the pictures didn't do the manor justice, it was a home away from home!
