the stables freshford near Bath

4 of 5
The cottage was very well presented, the beds are comfortable and everything works well. There was even a good supply of all the necessities such as dishwasher tablets, washing powder and lavatory paper. The village is wonderful, set in a beautiful valley very close to Bath. Because the River Avon, the Kennet and Avon Canal and the railway pass along the valley there seem to be few through roads so there is very little traffic. We have many lovely walks to gardens, a castle and along the various rivers in total tranquillity. The railway station is only 5 minutes away, a great boon as we took trains to Bath and Bristol. The service is good, even getting us home after an impromptu trip to the theatre in Bath. We were also delighted at the friendliness of the villagers. They couldn't have been more welcoming in the shop, at church (fizz after Easter service) and when we met them out walking.

Lovely little Holiday cottage

5 of 5
We enjoyed our time in this beautiful cottage. It is very well-maintained, very clean and has a really cosy and warm atmosphere. It is a nice walk to Bath, also easy to go by bus. We would definitely like to come back!!!

The Batch

4 of 5
Having booked last minute, the owner Paul was very efficent in answering any questions we had prior to the visit. There was enough parking on the opposite side of the road which wasn't a problem at all. On arival, the cottage was very clean and throughout the stay everything we needed was available for us at the cottage. We drove into Bath on the Saturday which we found easy and booked a taxi in the evening which cost us around £7. The Batch is in a brilliant location with Bath on your doorstep!
