Myself, my misses and 2.5yr old daughter stayed at Las Piletas for two weeks over Xmas. We had the most amazing experience and didn’t want to leave. We wanted a quiet, rural, retreat in the Southern Spanish hills where we could forget about city life and enjoy the natural scenery. We got much more! The house and surroundings were absolutely beautiful (even in December!) and we luckily got fabulous weather which surpassed Summer weather in England. Fantastic place for walking, hiking and biking! We will return again one day…..
A very clean, well furnished, beautiful and comfortable house. Washroom is lovely with plenty of hot water. Kitchen is well-equipped and contains good gas hobs/oven which is reliable for all kinds of cooking. Living room has comfortable sofas and a much wanted well stocked wood burner which sets the peaceful scene for evenings with a good book.
The house looks out to the South onto a wonderful scene of rolling hills and ridges (mountains behind over the hill) planted with olive and almond trees. A fantastic place for walking, hiking and road/mountain biking (or just chilling out on the beautiful patio)! The place is safe and rurally fun for young children (including two local dogs that were great with my daughter)! It was sunny and hot 12/14 days of our holiday and it was the middle of December (note – we could have been lucky with high weather pressure).
The local town 7km away, Albondon, has some small but good food shops and bars for your daily supplies/coffee. It also has a really nice, clean, gated, small children's playgroup in the middle for small children. I took my 2.5yr old daughter every day and she loved it. A town beyond that, Albunol, has a large supermarket for all your necessities. The location is also great for daily coastal and mountainous trips.
I personally like to know everything about a place that I stay at before I book it. Charles answered every question of mine straight away. I couldn’t be happier with the friendly, welcoming and abundant service that he provided! There was also a local man, called Jose, who would welcome you and be on call if you ever needed him. We enjoyed every moment and didn’t have a single bad thing to say about the place. We will not forget our magical stay at Las Pietas!!
