It Couldn't have been better!

5 of 5
We, a family of four, spent a fantastic fortnight at Maremar. We were looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing, whilst being within walking distance of restaurants and bars. That is exactly what we got! Maremar is just as good - if not better - than described in the listing. The sea view is stunning. It really does feel like someone's own holiday home that they have let you borrow for a short break. Well appointed, very comfortable and spotlessly clean - what more could you want? Peter and Lucy seem to have thought of everything, and were always at the end of the phone for help and advice, with absolutely nothing being too much trouble. That included, in our case, arranging for a locksmith to retrieve some lost keys! There is plenty of information, both at Maremar and on the website, about the area and thing to do, close by or further afield. Indeed, Lucy had already sent us lots of ideas even before we arrived. As other reviews have said, Sant Feliu is a bustling seaside town, feeling very cosmopolitan and family orientated. It was great to feel we were in a resort that the Spanish would also want to visit. Everyone made us feel very welcome, even though to our continued embarrasment we do not learn any Spanish or Catalan before we arrived. We used Maremar as a base to explore the area and keep everyone happy - culture (Gaudi + Dali), shopping (Barcelona) and water-based activites (snorkelling + waterparks). And the highlight of the holiday? We were very lucky to be in Sant Feliu over a festival weekend, and sitting on the beach at 11pm watching a 30 minute firework display over the Mediterranean was awesome (Tom, aged 9). Thank you Peter and Lucy

What a lovely place --- we had a wonderful time!

5 of 5
We were two families vacationing together (total: 5 adults, 3 kids under age 5). This location was perfect, for grownups and kids alike. Very nice house in the most beautiful region of the Costa Brava without mass tourism. Relaxingpool and garden Inside the house it is very spacey and there is everything you need.. Its location was perfect for exploring this beautiful area of Catalonia. We really enjoyed exploring the immediate countryside, there are several beautifully preserved medieval villages within easy cycling distance. The beds were comfy and the bed linen and towels of a good quality. The house was clean and well presented. The kitchen facilities are excellent and all 8 of us really could sit in comfort and enjoy our meals in the pleasant dining area. The glasses, crockery and cutlery were all more than adequate. (We didn't use the BBQ or eat in the garden so I can't comment on this experience.) The village is full of restaurants so there is no need to cook if you don't want to and no need to drive in the evenings. We tried 3 restaurants and they were all good. The last day we did part of the 'Cami de Ronda', an ancient smugglers path along the stunning coastal scenery of the Costa Brava. The section we did, between the beach at Pals and SaRiera is beautiful, with stunning virgin coves along the way. The Costa Brava region of Spain is a "must see" for anyone who loves travel. We are hoping to come back as we didn't have enough time to see it all!. Thank you for all your help in making it a magical week for us all, we enjoyed our stay immensely! Thanks again Enric, it was great!!!

Lovely villa for a peaceful family holiday

5 of 5
The villa is well equipped with everything one could need for a family holiday. We had 5 adults and my 2 young grandchildren in our party and there was plenty of space for everyone. The pool, gardens and outside dining area were particularly appreciated, though the little ones also enjoyed having UK TV channels so that they could go inside in the midday heat. The villa is extremely convenient for getting around and there is a good supermarket just down the road with an excellent fresh fish counter for those who want to self cater, though there are several excellent resturants in the area - El Refugi in Romanya just 10 minutes drive along a country road is particularly recommended. I would recommend the villa to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in a lovely part of Spain.
