Rural Retreat

5 of 5
We stayed at Casa Martin for 10 days and can honestly say that it was a perfect rural retreat. The property was spotlessly clean, everything for a relaxing self catering break had been thought of and provided, and the owners, Bob and Gunny, so helpful and friendly. The views were spectacular and the hot tub an added luxury, usable even in early March. Altogether a lovely home from home. We would definitely stay there again if house hunting a second time in the area.

We loved it!!

We stayed one week in Villa Cortijo Masmuda near Canillas de Aceituno in the beginning of October 2014. It’s located in the Axarquía, the central mountains of Andalusía, a one hour drive from Malagá Airport. We were surprised how spacious this Spanish villa is: there are 3 large bedrooms beautifully and tastefully decorated. The bedroom upstairs has its own separate bathroom and shower. There is a big living room with nice authentic furniture including satellite TV and a music installation with cd player. Further more there’s a perfectly equipped kitchen and a nice terrace with a big wooden table and plenty of chairs so you can have your meals outside any time of the day. The Wifi connection worked flawlessly. The swimming pool area is separated from the main building, a couple of stairs up which makes it a very restful place to be. It’s surely large enough, well maintained and there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. It takes a 20 minute walk from Cortijo Masmuda to get to the lovely village of Canillas de Aceituno. There you can find a couple of very nice, family runned restaurants who offer typical local dishes at an exceptionally well price/quality ratio in case you don’t feel like preparing food yourself. I can recommend Cortijo Masmuda especially for those who aren’t fond of the Costa del Sol crowds and prefer the authenticity and tranquillity of a Moorish village. If you’re in for a day on the beach, it only takes a half an hour drive to Torre del Mar or popular Nerja. You can also easily plan a day trip to the well-known cities Antequera or Granada or visit the countless white villages in the neighbourhood. We are so happy to have found this hidden gem in Andalusía and are surely coming back!

Perfect holiday in an idyllic place

5 of 5
My friends and I stayed in Villa Indalo in September. We had a lovely time. The house was more than we expected, it felt like a real home. We especially enjoyed the pool and barbecues in the evening while listening to the goat bells in the distance. It was lovely to sit outside at night gazing at the stars and the village lights whilst enjoying the different aromas from the mature garden. We will definitely return next year.
