How can one surpass the superlatives already used to describe this fabulous place? It's stylish, comfortable, embracing - what a great surprise to have a starter pack in the fridge after 36 hours of flying from Australia that includes bread, butter, eggs, bacon and conserves.
Keith was incredibly easy to deal with and his housekeeper Doreen is a friendly darling.
But perhaps the most mind-blowing experience was to be able to sit in the sitting room and look at Fort St Angleo, the remnants of Fort St Elmo and know you are sitting close to the site that was Fort St Michael and see the scale of the battle that was fought during the Siege of Malta - across that narrow waterway was where the Knights of St John pulled up their great chain to protect the Great Harbour from invaders, there was where thee Knights and their extraordinarily brave Maltese soldiers died to the last man as they defended St Elmo against the odds for over 30 days. Imagine 6000 Knights, soldiers and Maltese people prevailing over 30,000 Ottomans.
The other fantastic aspect to this apartment stat you are within walking distance of the old town of the Knights of St John - Birgu, renamed Vittoriosa after the Siege - and just a short ferry ride from Valetta.
We enjoyed walking down along the waterfront and eating delicious meals so close to "home", admiring the extraordinarily beautifully decorated fishing boats and watching the older men sharing stories of memories and the fish that got away.
I can't recommend this place more highly and will work to trying to return soon.
