What a wonderful 3 generation holiday

5 of 5
The pleasant door to this amazing house gives no hint as to what is within - lots of clean well furnished rooms, a large kitchen, a courtyard, garden with outdoor eating area, roof terraces galore, a swimming pool, comfortable bedrooms, all very private. It was the perfect house for our 3 generation family, providing plenty of space to either be together or spread out, with the added bonus that the two younger generations fit very nicely into the 4 bedrooms in the main house, while grandparents were able to sleep in peace and quiet in the tower. Would we recommend it to friends? Yes. Would we go there again? Definitely! When you step out of the door you are in the middle of a Maltese town, so you are able to get some feeling for what life is like in Malta. There is a small grocer across the street. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. This especially applies to the owner, Alex, who couldn't have been more helpful. For families with small children - Pretty Beach at Birzebbuga is ideal. It doesn't entirely live up to its name, as it is close to the cranes of the Freeport, but it is clean, has white sand leading into a shallow sea, and the 2 to 7 year old younger members of our family made many sandcastles there. A short drive takes you to Marsaxlokk, with its many restaurants along the beach. Malta is an excellent holiday destination - so much to see and do, and yet it is so small that you can get anywhere in a short time.

fantastic villa with a great pool and views

5 of 5
Just returned from 2 weeks in Gozo staying in this property. It was great - very spacious, no one else nearby, so very private and quiet. Well located - ten minutes to Victoria, 15/20 mins to Xlendi for the best views (we liked Churchill restaurant and Zafiro as well), 25 mins to Ramla bay for the best beach (really the only big stretch of sand) and nowhere else was much further. The house was well kept - was actually cleaned twice a week inc laundry changed. Carmen was very helpful beforehand with things like car hire, and quickly responded when we were there and had a blocked sink. The layout wasn't quite as expected - there's actually only one floor with 4 twin rooms on one side of the corridor and the two en suite double rooms plus two shower rooms on the other side. This (very long) hallway joined the two ends of the house - one end had a huge lounge with lots of fans, the other had a huge dining room and kitchen - which had all the necessary equipment. All fine, the different layout want a problem for us. The pool was great, but was 1.5m at the shallow end and 3.5 at the deep, so not suitable for small children, but fine for ours who like swimming down to the bottom to get dive sticks! Gozo was nice, although the drivers don't indicate or even look when they pull out - I recommend full insurance if you hire a car! The diving is what brought us here, but there were other things to do - a boat trip from the island sea to the azure window, a trip to the blue lagoon at Comino (go early and expect it to be more crowded than any place you've ever been! ) and the Rotunda (not the citadel) was amazing. All in all a lovely place!
