Bluebell Cottage was Perfect!

5 of 5
Before and after booking Bluebell Cottage I inundated Robert Murphy with emails on every aspect o the Cottage, Bantry, and surrounds. He always responded promptly, and with even more information than I'd requested. The cottage turned out to be everything we could possibly want, in comfort, kitchen cookware, proximity to shops, and the many wonders of West Cork. Our week's stay there was idyllic, and I plan to return next year. What's nice about Bantry is that everything is within walking distance, including excellent restaurants, the waterfront, and a plethora of unique shops, including The Craft Shop, and Cafe Organico. I also liked that tour buses aren't in evidence. Quiet, peaceful, with all the amenities, including great books and DVD's it can't possibly get better than this.

All lovely!

5 of 5
We enjoyed this delightful cottage for two weeks. The view is to die for and the hosts are very special people who made us feel very welcome and instantly at home. The bed linen and towels were changed every four days. The cupboard had all the necessary bits and bobs such as cooking oil, salt, pepper etc and the welcome pack was great with bread, butter, milk, juice, bacon eggs and sausages. The beds are very comfy and the cottage is warm and welcoming with underfloor heating, there is a constant supply of hot water. We took advantage of the two kayaks that were at our disposal a couple of times, it was fantastic to get close to the seals that frequent the rocks near to the shoreline in the bay. We visited one or two local places such as the Bamboo park, Bantry and Glengarriff. The ancient forest at Glengarriff is amazing as is Gougane Barra and Gleninchaquin Park, both recommended by Kate and within easy driving distance. It's a good place to stay for visiting Mizen head and the Beara Peninsula both of which have splendid views. We highly recommend Casey's hotel in Glangarriff, the food is good and it's not too expensive. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to my friends and family, it is beautiful and very, very relaxing.

A wonderful cottage in a wonderful place

5 of 5
We were captivated by the cottage from the moment we arrived. Just being in it was a treat, and on those windy rainy October days when we stayed in, it was lovely just to sit by the log fire, relaxing with a book and watching the weather roll by. To say the cottage was well equipped is an under-statement. Everything we needed was there, and more. And it was so comfortable and homely. Better than my home, actually!! On sunny days, it was a short walk to the sea shore, and we really appreciated the bikes in the garage for popping down the lane to the local village, just 3 miles away. On a sunny day, the natural beauty of the area is simply stunning.
