Excellent Budget Accomodation

4 of 5
Our holiday was for 1 week commencing 15th May. The accommodation was basic but very comfortable and extremely well equipped - we had everything we wanted. The shower in the wet room was a bit weak but it worked and the water was always hot. The steps upto the apartment were a little steep but fine for most people, The terrace has great views to the sea which is just a short stroll away and the mountains. The walk into Sitia is manageable (25 mins) but it is better to drive in at night. Sitia is a very pretty Greek Town with lots of Taverna's and cafe bars by the harbour. We ate at Kastro and found it excellent. Another good place to eat is Dionysis which is a short drive on the way to Agia Fotia it's typically Cretan and is used by the locals. For swimming the Sita Town Beach is fine but we preferred driving to Palekastro. It's a very easy 25mins drive. We loved the beach (called Kouremenos) just opposite The Glasos Taverna and Rooms. The Taverna is also a good place to eat. If it's windy the beach close by at Xiona Bay is very good and has 3 tavernas. All in all a good place to stay for a peaceful holiday in a rural location.
