Lovely villa in a convenient location

          4 of 5
We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Trebes, staying in Villa Rene. The villa was just as expected from the photos on the website and past reviews. It is very well maintained, with everything needed for a home from home holiday. It is located conveniently for the shops and restaurants of Trebes, which is very picturesque with the canal running through the town. We made good use of the 4 bikes provided to enjoy the cycle along the Canal du Midi and to buy the daily baguettes from the local patisserie. The pool is a good size and was used daily by all. Villa Rene is only a 10 minute drive to the Cite of Carcassonne, which we visited frequently in the evenings for the lovely atmosphere and the excellent choice of restaurants. We also highly recommend Lac de la Cavayere for the safe beach, water activities and the clean facilities. This also is within a 10 minute drive from the villa. We also visited Narbonne Plage twice during our stay. This is a large clean, sandy beach on the coast approximately 50 minutes drive. The swimming is safe and the town has many shops and nice restaurants..but arrive early for easy parking! We were very impressed with the communication with Anne and Tommy from the enquiry stage to the final booking. Their responses were prompt and friendly and happy to help in anyway. This gave us confidence in our booking. Geoff, the property manager in Trebes, was very accommodating with our arrival plans and very knowledgeable on the property and local area. We would happily recommend Villa Rene.

Lovely modern spacious villa - excellent value

          5 of 5
We stayed here for 10 days in June this year. Excellent good quality spacious accom. with everything you would need for self catering - Private off road parking behind electric gates was a bonus. The villa pool was warmer than other 'heated' ones we've had at other villas even though only heated by direct sunlight it was around 30 degrees or more the whole time we were there. the villa is in a quiet residential location with little passing traffic. We ate out most of the time as there are 5 or 6 restaurants to choose from in Trebes, including a very popular fish restaurant (La Poissionnerie moderne) by the canal du midi. The walk to the centre of Trebes is an easy 10 minutes. Restaurant prices in this part of France are much more reasonable than the south east of France. There is also a choice of two large supermarkets in Trebes and plenty of small local shops for bread, meat, etc.. There are lots of places to visit in the area - you can catch a bus to Carcassone at the end of the road but it only takes 15 minutes by car to get there and there is a large carpark right outside the entrance. Also worth a visit are Lastours, Lagrasse and many other small villages and towns in the area as well as a drive to Gruisson and other places on the coast. The owner Sue kept in touch with us and made sure we had all the info. we needed for our stay, and Dave and Anne who maintain the property were very friendly and we are sure would have responded straight away if there had been any problems with the villa. All in all it was a lovely holiday and we would certainly return to the same villa again without hesitation.
