We used LaTour to accommodate my brother and sister in law, my daughter and husband and my son and his partner when I celebrated my birthday. It is little more than half an hour inland from Nice airport and easily accessed by car. The 4 excellent ensuite double bedrooms were ideal for our needs and each had stunning views towards the coast. The kitchen and living areas were generously provisioned and the outside space with pool, sun loungers and comfy sofas allowed us to take full advantage of the late summer sun. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The owner lives next door and after welcoming us said we could contact him with any issues or if we needed information. An excellent information folder was also provided. He had previously sent comprehensive lists of restaurants and places to visit so that we could research some ideas before we went. At his suggestion we dined at L'Ecole des Filles in nearby Bar Sur Loups and had an excellent, if somewhat quirky, meal!
The highlight of the weekend was Lori Mazziotti, a lovely lady who caters for private functions, who came to the house to cook us a beautiful dinner. I highly recommend her.
The younger members of our party drove to Monaco for one of the days and my son and his partner visited Cannes, less than a half hour drive away. We drove into the Gorge Du Loup and visited the hilltop village of Gourdon. We also visited local markets and went to Grasse and Miramar. However, La Tour is a lovely place just to sit, chill and step off the treadmill. A word of warning - the property is on a steep hill (hence the fabulous views) and the morning walk to the boulangerie required some effort on the way back!
One reason why we used this property was that the owner was flexible about our booking. We wanted to cover a long weekend - Thursday to Tuesday - and he was prepared to accommodate our needs since it was no longer peak season.
