Perfect apartment for exploring Antibes

5 of 5
We stayed here for a week in early April and can highly recommend it. It is really easy to get to, just across the road from Antibes Railway station (where the 250 bus from Nice airport stops) - ideal if you are travelling with bags. The apartment is in a small secure development and has a fabulous outlook onto Port Vauban with its yachts and with a little view of the Alps to the West. It is very quiet. The apartment itself was very clean and had all that we needed for a week. There is a small galley-type kitchen area with fridge, modern cooker&hob, microwave, coffee machine etc. Good quality kitchen. We cooked in a couple of evenings and everything was there that we needed. There is a decent sized living room, with space for a dining table and sofa, large flat-screen TV. There are only a couple of English speaking news channels - most of the channels are of course French. There is a hi-fi for music which was very useful. The only thing we would have liked that wasn't available is a DVD player and some movies, for those nights when we just wanted to chill. Both the living area and the main bedroom open up onto the balcony - just enough room for a table and 4 chairs. It gets the early morning sun (in April) which is nice and then is in shade for the rest of the day, which I think is probably ideal as you don't get the full heat of the sun during the day. The apartment is very well designed, with lots of built-in cupboards and storage. The bedroom is fairly small, with one side of the bed against the wall. Great built-in hanging storage for clothes and under the bed lots of spare bedding, beach towels etc. The bed itself was OK, a good height off the ground but the mattress was a little soft for our liking. Just inside the door is a double bunk bed - our daughter claimed the top bunk as her 'den' for the week and liked to chill up there in the evenings. There is a curtain across the bunk beds for privacy. Location-wise the apartment is perfect. About a 10 minute level walk into town, either past the yachts or through the back streets. The owner Sten is really good to deal with, has excellent English and we had great communication with him before and after our stay. His representative met us as pre-arranged - although we had to change the time due to flight delays but this wasn't a problem. Overall this was an excellent apartment for a week in Antibes and we would certainly stay here again if/when returning to Antibes

New Year visit

5 of 5
House was wonderful, for both adults and children, the scale of the rooms was entertainment enough, but the play barn terrific, even in winter. The owners were un-fussy, left well alone unless asked, and combined with William the Conqueror's Falaise castle, the clam and mussel beaches, and the odd Camembert farm, it was superb. Like your home Part 1

You’ve found dates available for booking this villa? You’ve been incredibly lucky – book it now! Otherwise someone else will do it and you will regret missing these opportunities: - spending every day watching from all the windows the sparkling surface of the sea; - going to bed every night feeling as if you’re visiting your “grandmother’s house”; - sleeping at arm’s length from tangerines hanging in the tree in the garden; - swimming in a pool, where the water is heated and can be as warm as you need; - sunbathing at any time of the day by the pool in the garden, where it’s sunny from the early morning to the late evening; - going for a slow walk in the garden with dozens of different kinds of plants and flowers, picking and eating tangerines and lemons fresh from the trees, listening to birds singing and having a ride on a swing, or having barbeque ; - having easy access to all the city's entertainment, but enjoying quietness of country life at the same time; - meeting successful and wealthy people, who have a peaceful and respectful pace of life, who greet you in the friendliest way, every time they see you, as their dearest neighbour; What does France and the French Riviera mean for you? If it’s progressive art, a little ironic luxury of the Belle Époque, the joy of the good life, friendly respectable neighbours, who have no reason to wish harm to you, then the Villa Dracoena is the place for you. You will remember you stay in Villa Dracoena as a time of peace and calm in historical interiors created with taste and attention to every detail. The upper level of the villa is the living room with panoramic windows, through which you can look at the sea and palm trees, so you can take a postcard picture of the Baie des Anges without even going onto the terrace. Your photos taken in the living room could also look like a colorful design for theatre interiors. The Kitchen adjoins the living room, separated only by a bar, which is very convenient and gives you an opportunity to enjoy a gala dinner or a quick breakfast with spectacular views of the sailing yachts. Early birds can have their breakfast on the outdoor terrace with a gorgeous view and a fresh sea breeze. For those who love sitting with a glass of wine and chatting until morning there are plenty of different places inside and outside of the house, plus a wine rack. ...
