Alpine Charm

4 of 5
This is a delightful chalet nestled in the charming village of Les Allues. We stayed in the second floor of the chalet with the gorgeous balcony views and extra space upstairs for tv viewing or in my case yoga. It's oozing with traditional Alpine charm and frankly we found it hard to leave in the evenings as it was the perfect chill out environment for my family after being on the slopes. We had breakfast inside and out depending on the weather and the attic double room provides a lovely escape from the rest of the family! Mary has thought of everything and her customer service is excellent. Even putting herself out after I left a watch in the chalet. The place is not an isolated spot - its in the village albeit high up. But the mountain views from the windows and the decking coupled with a 5/10 walk to village to get croissants each morning provide a very authentic country atmosphere. And it was much appreciated to leave the Meribel buzz behind each day. You can easily go back into town by a free and excellent bus service that takes no time at all and is highly recommended to avoid the meribel car parks etc. It took us a while to get used to the convection hob but we mastered it. The fire is amazing and the log wood stock infinite. Really spacious for a large family - there were only four of us but would have easily fitted double that. Highly recommended.

Perfectly homely and relaxing

5 of 5
Great holiday, topped by a very homely and cosy chalet to end each day in. Perfectly clean, well maintained throughout our stay. Mike and Ali were incredibly welcoming hosts and superb chefs. The only problem was that motivating ourselves to go out in the evening was hard - it is a fari trip into Meribel and we were so comfortable in the chalet that it was too tempting to stay in every night! Quite a lot of stairs in the chalet - painful with legs as stiff as mine by day three! But the sauna and hot tub helped cure that... Would highly recommend Olympie III to friends - in fact, I already have!

A great ski chalet

5 of 5
We stayed in chalet Nikita this last season, and unlike our last time, when we stayed in a hotel, we got to stay in a real alpine village, with old people and children, old barns and narrow alleys up between old chalets with the smell of wood smoke, and a real sense of being a community - the locals say hello, and are very willing to answer any questions [particularly if you have a couple of words of French to start the conversation!]. There was a quick and free bus that ran frequently up to the Meribel lifts. The piste was great, and we could ski back to the chalet. The bus ran late into the evening so we had no trouble going to town for food and drink. The chalet itself was great. The seven of us were very comfortable with 2 unused bedrooms. The showers and bathrooms were modern, the kitchen small but very efficient, and the sitting room a real gem - lots of cosy seats, eclectic decor, and a beautiful wood burning fireplace. Alaric, the owner, is a great character. We wished we had been able to stay longer. We'll be back.
