Stay at Bastidon du Murier

5 of 5
My wife and I spent a lovely week at Bastidon du Murier with our three children (ranging from 5 years down to a 9 month baby). It was perfect for what we wanted, particularly the generous amount of outdoor space, the terrace and the lovely swimming pool which the children played in all day. The garden is surrounded by vineyards and it's a very tranquil place. The house is very pretty, both inside and out, and there is a lovely big kitchen with a proper gas hob - so cooking was a pleasure. We were quite content just to spend the day relaxing at the house but Contignac is a lovely town and just down the road so we did our morning croissant & baguette run each day and had supper there on a couple of evenings. We even walked into the town with the children one evening. We'd thoroughly recommend this house for a really relaxed holiday in a gorgeous setting - we were very sad to leave!

A Perfect Week in Provence

5 of 5
I have stayed twice with Irene and Catherine, once with my girlfriend, the other time with my 20 year old son. I have been to France about 7-8 times, and can state unequivocally that I have never had a more enjoyable and genuine experience than I had when while staying with them at their charming B&B in Cotignac. Irene and Catherine went out of their away to assure that I, and my respective guests, were comfortable with our lodgings and amenities. The room itself was beautifully appointed and spacious. It overlooks the pool and patio, which, in the early morning and evening, makes a perfect setting to eat a delicious breakfast, go from a refreshing swim, or simply lounge in the sun and marvel at the surroundings. Irene and Catherine were extremely helpful in suggesting sights for us to tour and shop. They are close friends with many of the local shopkeepers. My 'guests' and I often walked to town, and even went for an occasional jog alongside the rolling hills and vineyards. If you are looking for an opportunity to truly experience the real essence of Provence, then this is the place to go!!! I highly recommend this wonderful B&B!

Wonderful Escape!!

5 of 5
Beautiful, amazing, enchanting...... Secluded, relaxing, romantic..... So many wonderful memories of our trip to the South of France, and this lovely house made the trip extra special. The house is well kept and in beautiful condition. The grounds are incredible - the backyard is a sea of wild flowers surrounded by trees and woods. You can't see another house in any direction - it is secluded and romantic. The drive up the hill to the house is a bit nerve racking at first - very, narrow, very steep dirt road, but after driving it a few times it became easier. The caretakers of the property were easily reached and very helpful in answering our questions(we had some stove operating confusion.) It's a lovely, homey house perfectly located a short drive from Entrecasteux and Cotignac. Definitely drive up to Lac St Croix - it is beautiful. I recommend going to the Tuesday farmers market in Cotignac and cooking in and eating on the front patio area... amazing food in a beautiful setting. Bring bug repellent - the mosquitos come out at night. I would strongly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.
