Perfect grouped properties for great group holiday

5 of 5
On arrival we were all amazed by the hamlet. We got a tour when we arrived and the photos had not done the properties justice as the rooms were more spacious than we anticipated and exceeded our expectations. The property was very clean and well maintained and the owners were easy to contact when we had an issue with the outside lighting. The facilities were great for a large group, we had a large enough dining table inside when we needed it and plenty of chairs and tables outside, there were 11 adults and 7 children from 0-3 in out party and there was more than enough room for everyone in the properties. We stayed here mainly to catch up with friends to didn't make many trips, we had lunch out in Bergerac and visited the local vineyard and that was about it. It was great just being able to enjoy our surroundings and cook up a BBQ or meal for everyone in one of the kitchens and laze by the pool in the day time. There was an array of bikes and childrens toys provided which was also great to keep the kids entertained. There are a lot of stairs in some of the properties so we did have to keep an eye on the younger crawlers in the group but the bungalow and cottage are good for those families as they are all on one floor. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we have already booked a return trip in 2016.

Lovely place, fantastic holiday!

5 of 5
We rented the farmhouse and chai for two weeks. Our friends stayed with their family (2 adults, children of 6, 4 and twins of 1 year old) in the farmhouse. We stayed with our family (2 adults, twins of 6 and one of 2 years old) in the chai. It is nice to spent a holiday apart but also together. The properties are very spacious, well equiped and have many extra's for children (children chairs, gate on the stairs, plastic plates, ...). Nice and very spacious pool with also a nice water depth for the children. The different terraces give you the opportunity to enjoy the morning or evening sun or choose for the shadow at noon. Keven is the perfect host. He is available when you need him, but he stays at the background not disturbing your privacy. Our friends had a problem with the heating of the warm water. Keven called the plumbers the same day and the next day everything was repaired. Nice to know is that the supermarket in Castillonnes is open on Saturday until 18h and is also open on Sunday morning. We visited the market in Castillonnes on Tuesday (nice), Château de Bridoire (fantastic for the children), Bergerac, Issigeac (mediaval village - bwah, not that impressive), a daytrip to Jacquou Parc (fantastic, not that expensive) and Château de Biron (interesting for adults, children a bit bored after 30 min. ;-)) Despite the changeable weather this summer in France, we had a fantastic holiday at Fon du Bourg. We can recommend this place! Meaby small remarks for Keven: a little sign of 'Fon du Bourg' at the entrance of Douzains and at the entrance of the domain and some of atmospheric lighting on the terrace of the farmhouse ;-) ;-)

Lovely hideaway in a great location

5 of 5
Great views, quiet, surrounded by sunflower fields and lovely bastide towns, the Pigeonnier does indeed make a wonderful romantic hideaway for a couple. Or you can squeeze in your teenage sons like we did and have a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable family holiday. Tower bedroom is lovely. The covered patio makes a great living and eating area - beautiful sunsets from there and only a few short steps to the pool. Or back to the kitchen for more food and drink. Great cycling country too. Castillones is a relaxed and friendly bastide and Monpazier, Eymet and Bergerac within easy reach. Thanks, Keven, for great hospitality and we hope to be back soon...
