Wonderful relaxing week in stunning location

5 of 5
After a long drive, we were warmly welcomed by Graham, the owner who did everything he could to make our stay memorable. Our apartment was newly restored in the old Tuscan style. Extremely comfortable, especially the bed! Days spent touring unspoilt countryside and ancient villages or walking near the apartment, evenings spent sitting with a glass of wine on the terrace in the glorious garden and watching the sun go down over the mountains. Great restaurants nearby - try the fried courgette flowers! A wonderful, restorative week.

The Boathouse in March

5 of 5
The end of March was a lovely time to visit the Boathouse. The Boathouse was spotless and Judith was fabulous- we had a lovely tea waiting for us on arrival.and she has a wealth of knowledge about the area. Nothing was too much trouble. There are lots of fabulous places to visit but I would recommend spending an hour or two just meandering around the village and looking at the views from different spots. Also if you are a fan of Poldark then Charlestown is a must. We had dinner in the Cormorant which was very nice although the staff could be a little over attentive for our liking and a pint or two in the Fisherman's Arms which was very friendly. After a day navigating the narrow roads it was lovely to arrive back, have a glass of wine and watch the comings and goings at the rowing club, the boat yard and on the river. If you are lucky you will also see a train passing by on a narrow gauge railway line just outside. We saw 2 during the week. The house is very well equipped and we found everything we needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable break.
