Just back from our three week stay at Villa Timily celebrating my husbands retirement, where we've had an absolutely brilliant time. This holiday was all about rest and relaxation, plus a little walking, swimming, reading and the occasional meal out, each to do as and when we wanted to, no rush, it's been wonderful.
Villa Timily was perfect, it was light and airy, very comfortable and really well presented. Everything we could possibly need was to hand. The beach towels were a lovely touch and definitely saved space in our cases and the library drawer was brilliant too, with a good choice of books.
It was a leisurely five minute stroll to our nearest and favourite taverna, Karouzi's as Irene said, and a ten to fifteen minute walk to the beach depending on whether you took the shortcut through the campsite or the road. The walk into Latchi along the new walkway took us around half an hour, but what a view.
Lee our house manager and Chris our bubbly cleaner were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them. We used Chris's supermarket recommended by Irene which was about a ten minute walk away. Kryos Chris very kindly delivered our shopping to the door, he would tell us to set off back and he would follow on his moped after five minutes, it was great. Nissos Taxi's also deserve a mention as well, who we used for our airport transfers. We chose not to hire a car as we wanted a total break from everything, and instead used their very efficient and really friendly service for the odd journery or two. It was eight euro's from Polis to Latchi and vice versa. As the weeks went on it got a bit too hot to walk both ways to and from Latchi although it is a lovely walk. Don't forget your water and hat and sunscreen though.
This was our sixth visit to the Polis/Latchi area, Polis still retains its charm and tradtion where Latchi has expanded somewhat since our last visit a few years ago, the new marina is quite impressive now its nearing completion.
All in all we've had a fantastic time at Villa Timily, we're full of sunshine, and feel totally rested and relaxed, just what we needed. We've also met and got to know some lovely people during our stay. Alas, all good things must come to an end and the fourth of July has finally arrived and we'll soon be heading back to the not so sunny Manchester, so we've heard. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have, you won't be disappointed we can assure you.
