It is known for its exceptional art and architecture and the 600 year old Duomo has the largest brick-built dome in the world. The campanile (bell tower) and the baptistery buildings nearby are both quite beautiful works of architecture. The famous Ponte Vecchio, which is lined with shops, spans the River Arno and is worth a visit.
