Holidaymakers looking for a beautiful resort on the Mediterranean will love Santa Maria Navarrese. This is a wonderfully scenic place that lies on the east coast of Sardinia, which in turn is west of the Italian mainland. Regular ferries take tourists from Palau on the North coast of Sardinia to Caprera. Historic buildings are also featured here such as Garibaldis House, which is on island of Caprera.
Sardinia enjoys plenty of sunshine in the summer months and stays relatively mild in the winter months. The average high temperatures for July and August are 30 degrees centigrade, with 11 hours of sunshine per day in July. Most of the rainfall on the island occurs during the winter although temperatures reach a minimum high in January of 4 degrees centigrade but may be as high as 15C.
Cagliari Airport is approximately two hours away from Santa Maria Navarrese. From here there are flights to several Italian cities as well as major European cities such as London, Munich and Brussels. Ryanair has flights from several cities in Italy, Spain, Austria and Belgium. Taxi and car rentals firms are available at the airport.
Olbia Airport is a similar distance away on the North of the island and has flights to and from mainland Italy and numerous European countries such as UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Taxis are available outside the airport as well car hire companies in the terminal building.
