Located between Torrevieja and the wonderful beaches of Guardamar, the traditional Spanish village of San Miguel de Salinas offers visitors the chance to enjoy all that makes Costa Blanca holidays so popular without having to fight through crowds of tourists. Most San Miguel de Salinas villas have breath-taking views over the beaches, the mountains and the bright flowers of the lemon and orange groves which surround the village.
The beautiful white sand beach at Guardamar is just minutes from a San Miguel de Salinas holiday rental, with all the facilities and services associated with it. It is highly likely that Guardamar beach will occupy a large proportion of your San Miguel de Salinas holiday, and there are few nicer places that you could find yourself. The sand is unbelievably soft and the beach is the starting point for sailing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing trips, water skiing lessons and canoeing excursions along the coast. Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and La Zenia are also very close by.
You can also get a round of golf in with ease. The high class La Finca Golf Club is located nearby, and as long as you pack your handicap certificate, getting a round in from your San Miguel de Salinas villa will not pose a problem. The course is beautifully landscaped with palm and olive trees decorating the centre and such high quality of water hazards that migrating waterfowl can often be seen resting on the lakes and among the reed beds! There are another two courses in the vicinity, including the famous Villamartin Golf Course.
In the evenings, people come from miles around to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the numerous restaurants and bars around the village centre. There are a number of excellent restaurants in San Miguel de Salinas serving up hearty Mediterranean dishes which are a welcome sight to anyone who has spent the day walking or cycling in the unspoilt countryside which surrounds the coastal resorts. Walking, riding, cycling and para-gliding holidays all thrive in the region.
This stretch of the Costa Blanca is filled with interesting holiday destinations and cultural attractions. The towns of Orihuela and Algorfa hide numerous attractions, from historical monuments to bustling markets, whilst the more hedonistic can head towards the lights of the famous beach resorts of the Costa Blanca including the luxury resort of Cabo Roig.
The weather of the Costa Blanca is the envy of many beach resorts around the world. With over 300 days of bright sunshine every year and an annual average temperature of over 20°C, it is little wonder that there are so many luxury holiday villas in San Miguel de Salinas. In summer, it is not uncommon for temperatures to hit 40°C, and in winter, temperatures are very unlikely to dip below 15°C.
