Holidaymakers looking for a destination in France offering wonderfully scenic views should visit the village of Rochesson. Located in the east of the country, Rochesson offers many interesting things for holidaymakers to see and do. Rochesson is located close to many numerous interesting places such as the capital of the Vosges department, Epinal. This is about 45 minutes drive from Rochesson and holidaymakers can visit the remains of the medieval castle, Saint Maurice’s Basilica, the Roman House and fabulous parks, gardens and an arboretum. Just 50 minutes from Rochesson is the town of Munster, which features the 11th century Lion Fountain, a medieval abbey and fabulous churches. Another place well worth visiting is the Murbach Abbey, which was founded way back in 727 BC. A little further afield is the town of Vesoul, which is about an hour and half’s drive away and again there are lots of places of interest here such as the Church of Saint George and Palace of Justice. Jardin Anglais is a lovely park in Vesoul with pretty trees and flowers as well as a childrens’ play area.
The climate in North East France is similar to Southern England with the warmest months normally July and August and the coldest December to February. Average high temperatures in Meuse are about 22 degrees centigrade in July and August. In January the average high is five degrees centigrade, but temperatures can fall below zero in winter. Rainfall is moderate in the summer with June and July averaging about eight hours of sunshine per day.
