Robion is a small and peaceful village in the heart of Provence, and has some good holiday rental options for those wanting to immerse themselves in the local French lifestyle. The village - which sits in at the foot of the mountains of the Luberon Natural Park in an area rich in olive groves, vineyards and market villages - is close to everything, but far away enough to provide a laid-back and rural feel for that perfect relaxing break.
The first thing that you notice when heading towards Robion is the fantastic and unspoilt countryside that surrounds the village. Robion lies in the middle of the Luberon Natural Regional Park, and some excellent days of hiking, walking and cycling can be enjoyed here amongst some of the finest scenery that the region has to offer.
The village itself is typical of the Luberon valley, consisting of a series of narrow streets and alleyways broken up by open squares. An entire day can easily be spent wandering Robion centre, with a Roman church, the village fountain and a number of old houses all waiting to be discovered and photographed. Most shops and amenities are a short distance away on the outskirts of the village.
July and August are perhaps the most popular times of the year in which to enjoying a self-catering holiday in Robion. This is partly due to the fine weather these months usually bring, but also because they are the main months of festival and celebration in the village, with the open-air theatre and music festival being a particularly highlight. The historic theatre usually gets into full swing around sunset, when temperatures are cooler but more than pleasant enough to be able to enjoy a glass of wine and a local production.
