I have been visiting the islands since my early twenties when I bicycled around Kauai, Oahu and The Big Island.

Years later, in 2001, I met the love of my life on Maui, which was a magical time. In our hearts, Hawaii is our home. We love to care for the land/gardens and the house in a way that makes it enjoyable for others to experience. We currently live part of the year in California.

Audrey Roumiguiere purchased this house in 2007

I chose this property/house because the women who owned it previously had put their heart and soul into caring for it since 1997 when it was built. They had planted and tended the beautiful botanical gardens and had kept the house in tip-top shape.

The home sits about 235 feet back from the street and is surrounded by vegetation. The gardens are a pleasure to do a walk-about every day and see something different.

There is a locking gate at the entrance which lets you know that no one will be just 'dropping by'.

The lay-out of the house is spacious and comfortable.

This vacation rental was a truly wonderful place to spend the first 8 days of our new lives in Hawaii. The vacation rental was very clean and had everything you needed to cook and clean with. We had a wonderful time looking at all the different fruit around the property and enjoyed how close everything was to the rental. I will definitely recommend this property to all my family and friends.

Owner's Response: It's always nice to have someone stay at the house who is making a move to the island! We are happy that you had what you needed to make it your "home", and hopefully you felt inspired by the gardens. We wish you well in your new home.

My family stayed at Audreys home for a week, we loved it. It was very clean and the grounds were like a botanical garden. This was a very special event becauce my Dad, who is 91, was born and raised just north of Hilo, and had not been back to the Big Island for many years. My brother and sister also came and it was a wonderful place to have a reunion. We all enjoyed staying at this special place, really felt peace and aloha. Hope to come back someday. Mahalo to Audrey !!

The description and video of this property is VERY accurate. We stayed here for 2 weeks in Feb, and everything was beautiful and green. The house and yard was much larger than we expected and kept clean. In fact, the entire neighborhood was clean and peaceful. It was the perfect place for listening to the coqui frogs sing at night and admiring beautiful gardens and birds in the day. Audrey was patient and helpful in answering all of our questions. The property is located a good drive from Lava Tree Park, Warm Pools Phoiki Beach Park, and the Kehana Black Sand Beach. And if you like to drive and see the land like we did, you can spend the day going north to the beautiful waterfalls of Hawai'i or south to visit Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. There was also a nearby Farmer's Market on Sundays. We loved it and would definetly stay again if we return to the Big Island.

Mahalo to Audrey! My family and I stayed at the property for 4 weeks. It's a home away from home. The kids loved playing and exploring in the yard...ages ranged from 2-10 years old. They adopted two stray kittens during our stay that they found in the yard. It's very quiet and secluded. When you sleep it's like being in a rain forest. You hear the rainfall and all the nocturnal animals. It's very relaxing and calming. If you are looking to relax and get away from your normal stressful life then this is the PERFECT place for you. My family loved it and I'm sure you will too. However, you want to make sure you have AT&T cell service as that is the only carrier that works in the area.

Stayed for a week with my family and found it to be centrally located to explore the East side of the island. The house is open and spacious. We shopped around and felt we got a great value to stay in a nice house. This one's a winner!

Aloha Audrey, Thank you for making your home on the Island available. Paradise is
truly at the end of the driveway. The garden is delightful and the hale is very welcoming,
comfortable, clean and oh so quiet! Enjoyed driving down to the hot ponds in the morning
to soak, and of course Pele is right down the road. Great location. As a woman who loves
to travel alone sometimes, I felt very safe here. Mahalo again for this sanctuary, and looking forward to returning & definetely recommend this place to friends.

Our time in Pahoa, Hawaii was truly Paradise. I know that word is overused, but in my view it was true for this resort home.
We stayed a week, visited the Kona side and went snorkling for manta rays. The house is only 30 minutes from the Hilo Airport and the near by restuarants were excellent.
The house was delightful, gorgeous and wonderful for our purposes. The gardens were spectacular.
On a scale of 1 to 10, this is resort is an 11. Will defi9nitely resturn for another visit.
