Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in St Austell - Bay View Cottage
Self-catering cottage sleeps up to 7 persons + baby. Free wifi & BTVision

Bay View Cottage is set in a quiet location on the outskirts of St Austell offering superb views over the Bay. The cottage is accessed by a private gated entrance onto a stunning enclosed driveway with plenty of parking. Within easy access are all the major tourist attractions- The Eden Project, Gardens of Heligan, Trewithen, Charlestown, Padstow, Newquay are all just a short drive away. Bay View Cottage offers free wifi, TV with BTVision (with BT sports & kids channels), DVD player, stereo, fully-equipped kitchen and a washing machine. There is plenty to keep children of all ages entertained- a games room, and there is a communal garden occupied also by our friendly mini-shetlands, Dillon, Honey and Flame who are always ready and waiting for company. It is a great base from which to explore everything that Cornwall has to offer and is especially ideal if you like to have a bit of peace away from the crowds in the evenings. Children can play in the grounds while adults get to relax with a glass of wine on the private patio with views out to St Austell Bay.

The Eden Project is on the doorstep at Carn Grey. The Eden Project has plenty of all year round activities to offer- winter skating rink, Easter activities and Christmas markets etc. Of course, during the summer there is always plenty going on in the Tropical and Mediterranean biomes- not to mention all of the music events and festivals. Carn Grey is a fantastic vantage point to survey the South Coast and is also within easy access of all that the North Coast has to offer. If you would prefer not to drive, St Austell has a mainline train station and there are also very regular bus services. St Austell itself also has plenty to offer for those rainy days- St Austell Brewery, Wheal Martin Museum and Charlestown Shipwreck Centre all give a fascinating insight to the local history. St Austell also has a new cinema complex and a small new shopping centre complete with Eden Cafe which offers live music events. Truro is a 20min drive and offers a fantastic place to shop (if the mood takes you). Nearby Par offers an indoor soft play zone for young children along with an indoor Cornish market.

We moved here in 2007 as we fell in love with the stunning views and the unique character of Carn Grey. The location is so ideal for accessing both the South and also the North coast of Cornwall.

Bay View Cottage offers both the benefits of a quiet location ideal for relaxing away from the summer crowds and yet also offers all the amenities to make your holiday as stress free as possible. Access to the A30 is easy and so wherever you want to go for the day is never too arduous.

Children can find plenty to do at the cottage if you decide to spend the day relaxing at home. The ponies are always ready and willing companions (as are also the guinea pigs) and there is plenty of space for children to run free come rain or shine!

We were absolutely thrilled with this cottage - accommodation itself was modern and quiet, but we were also delighted that we could tour the other areas of Cornwall without feeling like we were spending our entire holiday in the car. Mind you, we had to tear ourselves away from the conservatory as it was a great place to relax.

Karen and Alan are great hosts - very friendly and helpful.

We will be telling all our friends about this place.

We spent a fortnight at Bay View Cottage last July. It is very comfortable and we found there everything we needed. We experienced some « Cornish liquid sunshine » but spent happy hours reading in the conservatory, playing in the games room or watching DVDs Karen and Allan kindly lent us.

The cottage is ideally located, in a quiet area but close to St Austell town and shops.
We enjoyed our day at the Eden project and in the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We fell in love with the fishing village of Fowey and also went a bit further to Mousehole, Truro, Falmouth, Newquay, St Ives... Bay View cottage is a very nice place to explore Cornwall.
Karen and Allan, the owners and their children are very friendly and we have to come back to meet Dillon...
