Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Tavira Town
A three storey house, very spacious with 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms,.

Our house is situated a few minute stroll into the centre, near the Pousada. One of the benefits is how easy it is to find when arriving in Tavira being opposite the fire station with nearby parking available even in peak season.

The codominium is situated on the corner of the main road of Rua dos Bombeiros & Rua Antonio Viegas. The condominium is made up of townhouses & apartments in a private courtyard, & mainly residential. The house entrance is within the courtyard.

The house is roomy, tastefully furnished & has a spacious lounge with a dining table, leading onto a large kitchen . Just off the kitchen is a patio area which is ideal for al fresco eating.A terrace on the top floor is ideal for a relaxing time in the sun.

Tavira, steeped in history, is an ideal base from which to discover this lovely part of the Algarve. Tavira has it all !

Many local good value and quality restaurants are within easy walking distance, indeed a car is not required to get around the town.

Golf Details: The Eastern Algarve is becoming a must visit area for golf. There are now 6 courses within a 30 minute drive with green fees from 40 euros upwards. The sister courses of Quinta da Ria & Quinta da Cima are only a 10 minute drive away and are both delightful courses, unspoilt by developments and are quality layouts.

The new 'Jack Nicklaus' signature course at Monte-Rei is his first in Portugal and is destined to be one of the finest in Europe.

The Spanish border is only 20 minutes away with several courses within easy reach. The new Quinta do Vale course near Castro Marim, designed by Seve Ballesteros is well worth a visit-take plenty of balls as there are numerous water hazards to negotiate

Visit the Algarve in May!

Review Submitted: 19 July 2011 Date of Stay: May 2011
I came to Tavira for the first time in May. The temperature was very pleasant. We had a hire car and I really enjoyed seeing the abundant wild flowers and the mostly empty white sandy beaches.
We drove to Sevilla in Spain and saw the annual Feira, what a spectacle! THe whole of central Seville was taken over by people in horse drawn carriages and women and girls in fabulous flamenco dresses with their escorts.
The town house was clean, tidy, and decorated in the simple way that I associate with Portuguese homes. It had all sorts of extras, such as an iron and ironing board, which I found very helpful.
Walking around in the town itself, day or night, I always felt safe. We particularly liked the Belmar restaurant across the Roman bridge, which is frequented by locals and does excellent fish.
Coming across the castle garden was a find, it is only open on certain days of the week.
I agree that a car is not necessary, but we found it useful for exploring the mountains to the north, the nearby beaches, and we also drove to Albufeira for the day, where I found a better choice of handmade gifts such as Portuguese pottery.
I will definitely recommend the property to friends, although because it is a townhouse those who cannot negotiate the stairs would not find it suitable.

A very spacious, clean and tastefully decorated property in a quiet, private courtyard setting. Large roof terrace excellent for sunbathing and patio leading out from the kitchen to enjoy meals outside. Conveniently located - just a short walk from the restaurants, bars and shops in Tavira - hardly needed to use the car. Cooking facilities in the property are good and it is worth investigating the local market and cooking at home on occasion. The owner provided excellent directions, travel suggestions and recommendations on where to visit. A lovely property in a great location - will definitely stay here again.

Excellent location in beautiful Tavira

This townhouse is situated about 5 minutes by foot equidistant from the railway and bus stations (which are in opposite directions). It is about 8-10 min walk to the town centre and the Roman bridge, thus excellent for those travelling by public transport. The house is pleasantly spacious but the outside eating area is rather dismal, being surrounded by concrete walls. The house is showing its age - a couple of light switches just fell off in our hands - and it could also have done with a thorough clean. I didn't like finding animal hairs on the bedding, and fluff under the beds. Everything seemed somewhat grimy, and the bathrooms were a bit on the mouldy side. However, if you clean what you are going to use then its ok for a few days and the price was reasonable. The "America" restaurant in town served us a very nice bacalhau and also a very nice and totally free port after it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Owner's Response: This is the first negative sounding review not all based on fact.
Whilst a little" fluff" may have been found under a bed at no time has our house ever had pets inside, so the animal hair comments are bewildering to say the least. The house has always been cleaned to an acceptable standard but if on an odd ocassion it falls short then one would naturally ask the question why. There were 2 damaged light switches that we were only made aware of at the end of the year which have been repaired. Finally I have to ask if things were unsatisfactory why would the review be made 7 months after the visit and not straight away?

For the Summer in Tavira

Review Submitted: 23 September 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Me and some friends stayed in this house during one week in August.
It's wonderfull location allowed us to enjoy a relaxed week in Tavira.

In the historic centre of town and with great space inside and out - there two beautifull terraces where one can eat. We were close to everything we needed and this wonderfully decorated house had all we could ever need in a home away from home.

All the rental details were taken care online and the owner was always very helpfull.

Very easy and very nice.
Highly recommended!

Recomendo vivamente!

Relaxing Tavira

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 31 January 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
The accommodation is set in a private condominium with seperate key to a security outer door.
Its a quite place with front access facing in to a open air quadrant. The address is almost oppersite the local fire station.
The bus and train stations are within 5-10 minutes walk from this property and have many services direct from Faro, approx 45-60 minutes transfer time.
The local supermarket (Lidl) is situated almost next to the train station.
Tavira is a quite but relaxing place with festivals on during the high season in the main square. The beach is second to none and is reached by ferry from the quay in the lower town centre. There are many eating houses, with locally caught fish high on the menu.
The accommodation has an open plan first floor, lounge/diner with a kitchen with seperate patio with table and chairs.
The first and second floor have each a bedroom with twin beds with seperate bathroom.
The second floor also has an outside balcony with table and chairs.
There are several golf courses nearby.
This is an excellent property in a wonderful town with its own Roman bridge.

This is an excellent Townhouse
