Calodyne villa is a cosy house built in a quiet residential area. It has a beautiful tropical garden planted with mango and coconut trees and its own private swimming pool.The villa has 3 double bed rooms on the first floor with the 2 bigger ones having access to a balcony from which one can enjoy a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean and the islands just off the main land. All 3 bedrooms have air conditioning. On the ground floor there is a good sized sitting room with a TV, DVD and a dining room with a round table which sits 8. The kitchen is fully equipped and adjacent to it is located the study which has an extra bed and where guests have access to broadband free of charge. There are 2 WC,s ,1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and one bathroom. A maid is at your service daily for one hour except on sundays . The centre of Grand Bay is 15 min by car and the first supermarket 2 min drive.The bus stop is a 5 min walk and the nearest place of worship is Cap Malheureux catholic church

Great villa with private pool on beautiful island

The villa is in a quiet location in the north of the island only a short walk from the beach. It is ideally located to access the beaches on the west coast (Mont Choisy was our favourite closely followed by the smaller beach at Pereybere). Good shopping facilities are only 15 minutes away in Grand Baie. Car hire is recommended.
The garden and pool are a perfect place to lounge in the sun and relax and to watch and listen to the abundant wildlife. The villa is very well equipped (WiFi is available) and is well kept with a daily maid service, which was unobtrusive at a time convenient to us.
Philippe, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly giving advice on things to do, see and best places to eat (nothing was too much trouble). This together with the provision of fresh bananas and magoes made our stay all the more enjoyable .
We have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful villa.

Perfect Villa on Perfect Island

What more can be said....the Villa was very well equipped & maintained with a lovely pool & fresh Mangoes for breakfast, just perfect with the morning chorus of beautiful songbirds as an accompaniment
The owner Phillipe couldn't have been more helpful and with his knowledge of the Island made our stay even more enjoyable.
The Island itself is beautiful and we have in fact booked to go back next year, which reiterates just how much we loved both the Villa & Island.
We would without hesitation recommend this Villa.

Nous sommes restés 2 semaines à la villa ou Philippe nous a accueilli avec gentillesse et convivialité. Nous consillons cette location pour son calme et sa piscine toujous parfaitement entretenue par le propriétaire des lieux. Le reveil au chant des oiseaux est des plus agréable. Philippe, qui connait parfaitement l'île peut vous conseiller sur les restaurants, les sorties,........les remèdes anti-moustiques, ou toute autre chose dont vous auriez besoin. Il ne manquera pas de vous ouvrir des nois de coco du jardin ou bien de vous offrir quelques mangues qu'il aura choisi lui-même ! Marie, la femme de ménage reflette la gentillesse des gens de l'île et vous préparera, sur demande, des repas typiques. C'est une location que je conseillerai à des amis.
Une voiture de location est fortement conseillée.

Owner's Response: En effet ou que vous soyez une voiture de location ou un taxi sont fortement conseilles si vous voulez visiter l'ile car vous risquez de perdre pas mal de temps dans les transports publiques.Vous pourrez louer une petite voiture genre Kian Picanto ou Nissan Micra pour seulement EUR 25 par jour .

Marvellous vacation home

Well situated villa closed to the beach and the north of the island. Recommended for family as it is well secured and quiet. Philippe and Magali are very helpful and look well after their guests - good advice on the various restaurants. Nice garden (with lots of mangoes) and beautiful verandah overlooking the pool.
Good value for money and we highly recommend this villa.

After dismissing the Hotels (most are fairly expensive) on the island we opted for a Villa and decided on Calodyne Villa due to a combination of the location, facilities and cost. The villa is in a quiet location in the North of the Island, only 1 minute walk the coastline, ideally located to access all of the beaches on the West Coast - 10 minute drive to Pereybere (supermarket on this road) along a lovely coastal road, 4 minutes more to Grand Baie, then along to Trou Au Biches.
The garden and pool are a perfect place to lounge in the sun and relax, and are very well kept.
Philippe, the owner was very friendly and welcoming and a great host for the whole holiday providing us with loads of information. The maid was also excellent turning up at an agreed time, normally after we left for the day so we always came back to a tidy house.
Thanks again Phillipe we won't forget our Mauritian holiday!

Wonderfull Villa in great surrounding

Back home in Germany we still remember the wonderfull Villa in North Mauritius as a perfect place for relaxing holiday in style. It is a peaceful place not far away from (19 min drive) to nice beaches. Good shopping facilities in 15 min drive to Grand Bay or nearby in smaler shops. So there is all you need including Wifi and even a friendly and perfect housemaid.
If you need any assistance or whatever the houselord Phillip and his wife (a wonderfull and charming couple) don't hesitate to ask! They are always helpful and glad to lend you a hand.
The house has a huge garden and an own swimmingpool, big enough for a swim in the morning or all the day long.
We enjoyed our 10 day stay very much! Thank you and hope to come back again!

Charming creole-style beach house with pool!

We are a young family based in Germany. We had the pleasure of staying at the Lesage Property in the north and had a marvellous time during our stay. The house is a charming creole-style beach house a few minutes from the sea. We found it to be very comfortable. The kitchen is brand new and fully equiped. The property is very well kept and the housekeeping services were impeccable. The house is very family friendly, our children loved playing in the garden and in the pool. The surroundings are very peaceful and secure. We really enjoyed our stay at the Lesage property and our charming hosts (Philippe and Magali Lesage) did everything they could to make our stay really memorable and enjoyable. We strongly recommend this property.

An excellent base for exploring Northern Mauritius

We had an excellent week staying here during our 2010 visit to Mauritius.
The villa was very secluded, very well appointed and nicely maintained. It was sometimes difficult to get the children out of the pool so that we could go exploring.
There is a small beach within walking distance, but most of the time we drove to the larger beaches nearby.
Sadly I had to do some work while I was there, and the internet connection made that possible (sadly)!
Philippe was the perfect host of course.
Would definitely go back.

Grossartiges Haus, gemütlich und gut ausgestattet.

Ideal für Familien mit Kindern.
Marie putzt regelmässig und erzählt interessantes über Land und Leute. Der Vermieter, Philippe hat Gastfreundschaft grossgeschrieben. Er hat wertvolle Tipps und kennt sich bei interessanten Ausflügen aus. Unsere Kinder liebten den Pool, die Früchte aus dem Garten und das nicht allzu weit entfernten Meer wo wir wunderbar schnorcheln konnten.
Morgens gab es jeweils frischen Tee mit Zitronengras aus dem Garten
Empfehlenswert in der Nähe: die nördliche Inseln; Grand Bay, Grand Gaube, Goodlands, botanischer Garten und ‘l Aventure du sucre in Pamplemousses.
Etwas weiter lohnt sich ein Spaziergang durch Port Louis, eine kleine Wanderung zum Berg le Pouce hinter Port Louis und das Schwimmen mit Delphinen in Tamarin.
Wir hatten 3 Wochen Zeit und konnten neben ausruhen und herumliegen immer wieder nette Ausflüge machen. Das Mietauto hat unsere Flexibilität erhöht.

Ein Schnäppchen auf Mauritius

Wir verbrachten 1 Woche in dem angebotenen Haus. Es hat uns sehr gefallen. Die Einrichtung ist funktionell, man hat alles, was man braucht incl. Waschmaschine. Sehr schön ist der Pool mit dem tropischen Garten, der von einer hohen Mauer umgeben ist. Zum Meer sind es 2 min., aber baden kann man dort nicht. Eine Bäckerei befindet sich in 5 min. Fußweg entfernt. Ein grosser Supermarkt befindet sich wenige km entfernt. Die Lebensmittel sind sehr günstig. Die Besitzer des Ferienhauses wohnen nebenan und man wird super betreut. Hier in der Ruhe kann man die Seele baumeln lassen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hinreisen.
