Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday bungalow in Brixham - Newlands
Attractive 2-bed Brixham Harbour home with sea views, garden+driveway parking.

Newlands is an attractive home in a beautiful harbour setting. It has lovely sea views,a private garden and driveway parking (rare in this area) for 2 cars. The detached property is child-friendly due to the absence of stairs and due to the enclosed rear garden. Pets are considered. There are 2 good-sized bedrooms,a bathroom with bath plus Mira shower and a separate toilet .The sunny garden with sea views is perfect for breakfasts and open-air dining and enjoyment. The lounge dining table overlooks the bay with its beautiful sunsets and the illuminations of Torquay. The position of Newlands allows the freedom to leave the car on the driveway for the day (or the whole holiday) as it is very close to the beach, marina, waterside cafes, bars, restaurants and to a variety of ferries to nearby towns like Dartmouth and Torquay. Newlands is in an excellent position for South West Coastal Path walks and coves and the Berry Head Country Park. It has a 32inch LCD Television,DVD and a new gas central heating system.

No commission or booking fee payable.Good value and reliable with very high year-round occupancy rates and re-bookings for well over a decade.

A beautifully furnished 2 bed bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac, with off road parking. All mod cons and, due to the weather, superb heating.
Convenient for the town, the Coastal Path and public transport.
A thoroughly relaxing time in a wonderful environment, we wanted to stay longer.
We will definitely stay there again.
I thoroughly recommend Newlands to anyone wanting a completely stress free break by the sea.
Owner's Response: Your time and effort in writing a review was much appreciated.Thank you.

I have booked Newlands bungalow twice now, and would be happy to recommend it to a friend.

It is situated in a quite cul-de-sac within a few minutes walking distance of Brixham Harbour and town, and is very clean and cosy with nice decor.

The dining table is situated in the bay window which overlooks the sea and provides the perfect backdrop whilst eating a meal.

It is very comfortable - two comfortable leather two seater sofas and comfortable beds to make it feel like home from home. If you stay in low season, there is central heating and also a nice electric fireplace with cosy glow effect, in the living room. In the living room and the bedrooms, there are table lamps for cosy lighting if you prefer it.

The kitchen is very well equipped - there was nothing I needed that was missing!

Sheets and towels were provided which was nice, as I didn't need to pack any extras.

There is a small garden with table and chairs and an added bonus is the off-road parking, with enough space for two cars, which I find is very important when staying in Brixham.

The owner is very accomodating and helpful.

I can't think of anything that has been overlooked with regard to making your stay as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. I would say it is an ideal holiday rental!

Excellent base for touring South Devon

This is our second stay at Newlands and it is an ideal base for exploration of this beatuiful part of Devon.
The property itself is very clean and of a good size, it has a large front sea facing lounge with a big bay window where sits a table for 4 people, there are 2 largish leather 2 seater sofas and plenty of tables and cupboards.
Bedroom 1 is a the back of the property overlooking a medium sized level garden and has a double bed and nice pine furniture.
Bedroom 2 is at the front again with a sea view and with twin beds, again pine furniture for your clothes storage.
There is a decent sized bathroom with bath and a mira shower over which is pretty powerful. The toilet is next door but is separate, no bad thing really.
The well sized kitchen is at the back of the property with nice modern units with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer and for this year a great new addition a dishwasher (what a godsend).
We bring our dog with us and she loves the garden as do we, it's great to sit out in on a sunny evening.
The town of Brixham with all its restaurants etc is only a 10 minute stroll away on mainly flat ground so is very handy for all types of visitor.
We love Newlands it is ideal for us and we shall be booking again for next year.

Very nice property, helpful owner, quiet location

A well-equipped, clean and comfortable property in a wonderfully quiet location (apart from seagulls!) with a very helpful owner. It's only a bungalow (which may appeal to less able-bodies people or those with very young children) but with good-sized rooms and all expected mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine, DVD, etc). Heating is modern and effective. Everything seemed clean and in good condition and the owner obviously takes real care in the property. The sea view from the living room window makes a great start or end to the day.

From the bungalow it is a short but steep walk down to Brixham centre with reasonable amenities and a picturesque harbour. The nearest decent beach is (so far as I can tell) a few miles away so a car is strongly recommended, though especially in the summer there is a decent bus service from Brixham to other areas. The English Riviera attractions (Paignton Zoo, Torquay, etc, etc) are all within 10 - 15 miles, and there are plenty of other things further afield as well. You can even catch a ferry from Brixham to Torquay.

Any negatives? Very few, really:
- There's only one bathroom, which is fair for the size of property but might be an issue with a group that likes to spend a long time in the shower in the morning.
- The garden, while pleasant, is not especially big so not ideal for very active children who like to run around a lot.
- Brixham itself is charming but not very lively, so families with teenagers would probably be better off in Torquay itself. And you need to drive through the (very narrow) centre of Brixham to get almost anywhere from the property, which is fine out of season but could get busy at the height of summer

Overall, though, a great holiday.

Places we enjoyed visiting:
- Paignton Zoo
- Babbacombe Model Village
- Broadsands Beach
- "The Brixham Fish Restaurant"
