HOLIDAY HOME
If you look for quiet, nice place, away from crowd and noise, with sandy beach in front of you and beautiful garden all around, then you should come to Porta del Mar. It sounds like a commercial, but that is the truth. It is equally suitable for romantic honeymoon holiday and for families with little kids, like we are.
This year would be our third visiting to PdM where we stay in “our” house *(one bedroom villa named “Pasithea”) with our two kids. We used to stay there three weeks and all of us like this place very much. We found there everything what we need: fully equipped charming stone house with beautiful sea view and two big terraces; beach just few steps away with clean and warm water; children playground; “all day working” bar with coffee, ice creams and other refreshments. Just hundred meters outside PdM is located “Grill” restaurant with excellent Greek cuisine. Of course, the most important thing is great hospitality enjoying from our hosts Tasos, Pavlina and their children Elina and Kostas, which put big efforts to make this place so nice and pleasant.
So, since we found this little paradise, we don’t have a problem with choosing holiday destination. We found our holiday home!

This winter we double glazed all the window doors and also Pavlina changed some of the curtains to make the houses look even cozier.
The gardens have been well maintained over the winter and the amount of good rain we had, has made all the trees and flowers grow even more!

Holiday paradise
Last July Anne and I had our normal girly week holiday without young people in Anne's case and no hubby for me.We were not expecting such a glorious place. When we walked through the entrance we truly felt as though we had arrived in paradise.We stayed in the 1 bedroomed apartment with the most beautiful views overlooking the sea. The apartment was fully equioed with every thing you could want.There was only a double bed,so Tasos had the bed in the lounge made up so I could sleep there,I woke each morning to wonderful sunrises and we sat in the garden at night to watch the most magnificent sunsets.
We normally don't return to the same place two years in succession but booked ther and then to return this year [2009]for two weeks!!!!! The barbeque evening was lots of fun and there was a young Danish couple celebrating ther 10th anniversary we had a super party ! No plates broken thought Tasos!!
I wouls certainley reccomend Porta Del Mare Villas to anyone wanting a holiday in paradise.

In our continuous effort for improvements, we installed brand new washing machine to use free of charge. This way, you will need to bring with you less clothing’s!
The new garden with the play area will be fenced and equipped, so that parents can be more relaxed while their kids spend some time with the different activities offered.

Wonderful Holiday in Zante
My friend and myself spent a most relaxing week in July 2008 at Porta del Mar. We enjoyed excellent hospitality from Tasos,Pavlina and Kostas. The villas are all beautiful and kept spotless as they are cleaned daily.
We loved everything about our holiday and are going back in July 2009 with our daughters for 2 weeks.
We enjoyed a Bar B Q evening last year with the other guests and we are looking forward to tasting pizza from the pizza oven in July.
I would thoroughly recommend these villas as a home from home on holiday

This is our home away from home
We come to Porta Del Mar ever since the opening season,two times each year.We absolutely love this place because it is so relaxing.The garden is very beautiful.During the day it's a place to relax, read a book, have a drink, just lie-down on the sun-beds and enjoy.The childrens playing-garden is separate,nice and safe.The kids can play there, and you don't have to worry about a thing.And then, when night falls and during the evening the lights kindle, the garden transform in one of the most romantic places on earth.You can listen to the nice music and have a drink in the kiosk, overlooking garden and sea.Sit on the terrace in front of your villa to quiet-down, or have a drink at the wooden bar in the middle of the garden.Whatever you like,it is possible.The villas are well-appointed, everything you need is available.There is the daily cleaning of the houses, and change of sheets two times a week,or even more if required.Then there is of course the sea ! It could'nt be closer.Just a few steps down to the most amazing clear water (Blue Flagg).The view from the garden overlooking this magnificent blue water all the way to Kefalonia is breath-taking.Our children wondered why we always want to go back to Porta Del Mar.So last holiday (september 2008) we came altogether.Also our three grandchildren (between 4 years and 10 months).The children loved it! And the grown-ups ? They came,and fell in love with PDM.,the nice BBQ and Pizza evenings, the kind atmosphere,the wonderfull environment, and not in the least with the friendly owners, Pavlina and Tasos, who makes every wish come true.Already they want to go back themselves !

Porta del Mar Zakynthos. It`s a fantastic place.
We have visited Porta del Mar eight times so far and allways visit twice per year. It is the most relaxing place that we have ever been to mainly due to the wonderful people who both own and manage the villas. I refer to Tasos and Pavlina of course.
Nothing is ever any trouble to them and they always do their best to ensure a stress free visit to their little paradise.
All the villas are always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The villas are cleaned daily to a high standard and linen is changed twice weekly without fail.
All of the information provided on the portadelmar.com website is absolutely truthful and gives a good overall description of the facilities and distances to local amenities.
Although a hire car is not essential I would recommend it especially if you want to go exploring. Cars are very cheap to hire and can be delivered on the days which they are required early in the morning. Tasos will arrange all of this for you.
Apart from staying at one of the most beautiful locations on the Island there is the added bonus of having the very quiet and select Psarou beach at the bottom of a set of steps leading from the gardens of Porta del Mar. There are now two sets of steps since Tasos landscaped a previously undevelopped area of the garden. This area includes a childrens play area which is very safe for children of all ages.
I would recommend Porta del Mar to anybody who wants a relaxing and chillout experience.

Owner's Response: It is hard for me to comment on David's comments. He has said it all! The only thing I would add is that from 2009 season we will offer to our guests the choice to cook with us the most traditional greek dishes and eat their lunch or dinner in our beach front gardens at very reasonable prices!
