Perfect Place

From my 1st contact with Anne, she was extremely friendly & helpful, answering all my questions & offering advice on flights and transfer from the airport. The build up to the holiday was as smooth as it could be. We booked with Fethiye Airport Transfers and they arrived at the airport with ice cold water in an immaculate taxi. Sheer bliss! The information provided at the villa was also very helpful.
We arrived at Olive Tree Villa and couldn't believe the beautiful views from the terrace. Both garden and pool are very well looked after and lovely to spend time in. There were six of us, including two children under ten and the villa was a perfect size. My daughters loved the pool and garden. They found a tortoise and were delighted by a red squirrel who came to drink from the pool every morning and evening. The donkey next door also became a favourite!
Uzumlu village was a very pleasant surprise, as it had very few tourists and was a peaceful, quiet place, but with a choice of restaurants, with varying prices, but all geared up for children. We particularly enjoyed the Pide restaurant, the fabulous bread shop and another restaurant up an alleyway which advertises English breakfast (but don't let that put you off - the people and the food were lovely). Everyone we met was charming and kind and made us feel so welcome. Even the Turkish ladies passing by the house gave my daughters fresh figs, almonds and other items they had been picking. The market on Friday is great for fresh produce.
We were rather unfortunate that we visited during a heatwave in the hottest summer Turkey has ever had & were rather hampered by the relentless heat. We hired a car for 4 days of our 14 & for the remaining 10 we did not venture out too far as even wandering around the village was exhausting. I certainly wouldn't say a car is essential, but if your budget allows (and you go in high summer), it may be an idea, so you can easily get to a beach.
In terms of things to do, we really enjoyed Kayakoy (the ghost village) and had a super day at Sakklikent Gorge. We also went to a beach used by the Turks which wasn't too far and loved that.We also had fun on the Dolmus into Fethiye and went on a memorable boat trip. We chose the shorter boat trip (11am - 5pm) and would recommend that if you have children, you don't take the longer one as they were very tired after it. We went on a smaller boat and can't recommend it highly enough - it was fantastic.
Book now -it's great!
