Fethiye: Fethiye is reached by dolumus (the local bus service) which runs approx. every 15 - 30 minutes from Calis. This ancient town was settled over the ancient Telmessos situated on the foot of Mendos Mountain, by the gulf giving its name. Staying in Fethiye, a town integrated with history, nature and sea, you can easily visit the antique cities around such as Cadianda, Pinara, Tloss, Sdyma, Xanthos, Letoon and Patara. As the temperature rarely drops below 16 degrees, you can stay here for nine months and enjoy the sea. Fethiye is one of the rare sites where history and nature embrace each other. Within the town, there are two natural beaches, the 4 km long beach at Çalis Beach and another at Karagözler. Katranca bay is 17 km away,Ölüdeniz, Belcekiz and Kidrak are all ideal resorts with their thick pine trees and clear waters. Butterfly Valley is approximately 5-6 km from Ölüdeniz. Access is by boat trip only from Ölüdeniz and is located among 350 m high mountains.
Saklikent : This is an 18 km long canyon which is a natural wonder 50 km from Fethiye and well worth a visit. Rafting down the canyon is also on offer for a small fee.
Yakapark nearby is a trout farm. Not your normal, everyday type of trout farm. It's an brilliant, extraordinary place to visit. During the same trip, visit Tlos (ruins) which is a unique place for those bored with endless sunbathing. All these places can be visited using the local dolmus service which is inexpensive, or by using one of the tour companies which advertise locally or we could organise this for you prior to your arrival. You could also hire a car and visit in your own time.
Ölüdeniz: Oludeniz has one of the most famous beaches in the world. Oludeniz consists of two parts; the first part is Belcekiz which lies through the bay to the lagoon; the second part id the real and most photographed, the lagoon. This part is shallow and calm and wonderful for everyone, but especially small children. The Lagoon is a National Park and as such, has an entrance fee.
Oludeniz is 12 km from Fethiye and is reached via local dolmus from Fethiye; the cost being around 1.5 - 2 Turkish lira (around £1 - £1.50)
It is here that you can play all kinds of watersports from canoe, surf, banana boats, paragliding, but it is from here that you can join various trips possibly to Butterfly Valley, St Nicolas Island and many more trips. Along the beach front are bars and restaurants.
