What can we say, A fabulous villa in a beautiful place.
We had 2 superb weeks at Casa Cuba, the sea views from the terrace are beautiful and the villa is so well equipped we needed for nothing.
There are some super beaches within a few minutes drive which we thoroughly enjoyed.
There is now a new bar/restaurant at Club Golfemar, The Lighthouse, which we would also recommend only a few steps away.
One of the best holidays we've had!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Casa Cuba. The villa is perfect with all the facilities you could need which makes it a real home from home.
The view from the roof terrace and garden is really stunning and we loved sitting in the garden looking at the sea with the children nicely tucked up in bed!
The shared pools are great. Our young children loved them both and the nearby beaches are beautiful.

Casa Cuba is a masterclass in how a rental villa should be offered to guests. It is even better than portrayed on the site and, in 20+ years of staying in villas of all shapes and sizes on the Algarve, this one is the very best of all we have been to.

The villa was spotless, extremely well furnished and equipped (we played a game of "What haven't they provided?" and a cherry-stoner was about the only thing we came up with), the beds were comfortable and the TV worked.

It is a perfectly-formed holiday home with beautiful views to the sea, a charming garden (complete with resident sparrows, hoopoes, azure magpies and a wall of bouganvillea) and on a first-class complex with an outstanding pool, pool bar and an up-and-coming restaurant with views that take your breath away.

It would be possible to manage without a car as there is a small supermarket about 100 yards away, plus there are several restaurants within walking distance. Julio's is the only one for us and despite its elegant blue and white decor is cheaper than many other places. Children are welcome and have a beautifully painted play area - and Julio and his staff have a soft spot for the little ones.

The nearest beach, Centiannes, is about a 10 minute walk going and 20 minutes coming back when it is uphill, but not too arduous. The beach bar O Stop offers Everything with Chips and has huge TV screens, so not the place for a romantic evening meal but great for lunch as it is a 'sand between your toes' sort of place.

We will be booking again and next time taking my 85 year old father as the main accommodation in Casa Cuba is all on one level, including from the car park. We have already recommended Casa Cuba to others.

The only slight drawback is the new toll system on the motorway which is a nightmare when you want to pay (2 hours at the post office every four days). There is no way of paying the final tolls relating to the journey back to the airport, so be prepared for a huge fine landing on your doormat. There is a way round it by going to Olhau and hiring a pre-paid meter, but there are no refunds and you have to guess at your use. Crackers of a system and not what an economy dependent on tourism needs. Don't let it put you off though - we used the alternative N125 which runs parallel to the A22, is free and not a lot slower at off peak times.

To summarise: Full marks to the owners of Casa Cuba - they have got it 100% right.

Casa Cuba exceeded our expectations and is a beautifully decorated, clean and an extremely comfortable villa. The owners have thought of everything you could need for your holiday and more. Local property manager very helpful. Amazing views from the garden and roof terraces with a lovely swimming pool and snack bar for drinks and meals on site. Lighthouse bar and grill due to open any day looks fantastic. Small supermarket and good choice of restaurants within walking distance, larger supermarkets only a short drive. An easy and relaxing holiday with a young family, we would highly recommend this villa and location to our family and friends. Good for days out and lovely beaches within a very short drive. Enjoyed the summer sand sculpture fiesta at Pera. The nicest villa we have stayed in and we hope to make a return visit – thank you!

Casa Cuba is a very well maintained property and it exactly fits the description here on the net, except the overwhelming view from the lower and upper terrace. We loved it chilling there and see the day pass by peacefully. After having been in many other holiday resorts and getaways in the past 25 years, Casa Cuba clearly resides in the upper 20% of all of them and it is well worth the money spent. The communication with June and Paul was fast, clear and trustworthy.

Also the entire estate “Clube Golfemar”, mainly the garden and the pool area is neat and very clean and the caretaker staff from Genesyskey is keen and supportive.

If you plan to stay there, you will definitely need a car, even though some shops and restaurants are in walking distance. But the beauty of the area can only be marveled if you are mobile. We would recommend trips to Sagres and windy Carbo de Sao Vincente, the beaches of Vila do Bispo (Praia do Casteljo, Praia do Cordoama) in the western Algarve as well as the thrilling waves at the beaches of Carapteira. The drive takes an hour but is more than worthwhile.

Even though the kitchen of Casa Cuba provides all amenities dining out is a perfect bargain especially when you like fresh fish and wine. A mixed fish grill plate takes you less than 15€ and it is perfect at “O Chefe Antonio” in Carvoeiro or at Restaurant “Poco Partido”.

We would recommend Casa Cuba for families with toddlers or teens 14+ or two couples of any age, looking for a relaxing getaway.

Excellent location (access to quality beaches, very good restaurants &/or supermarkets, nice and large pool, sympathy of pool bar team, professional and friendly contact of local supervisors, etc, etc). On top of that I add a fantastic house, perfectly equipped and well maintained, enjoyable garden and surroundings, and many more attractive items, making of me/my family (wife and daughter of 16 years old) holidays a very positive and relaxing experience, super moments to remember in the coming years. In summary an excellent choice for a good family holidays, that I wish to repeat soon and surely recommending to my friends.

Thank you for a faboulous holiday at the Algarve, an area we did not know before. Casa Cuba was the perfect place to start our exploration from, close to the coast (walking distance), to nice beaches, restaurants and bigger towns like Albufeira.
The house is perfectly equipped for a family with young kids (baby bed and chair available) and the staff of the club is very friendly. The view to the sea from terrasse and roof terrasse together with all the flowers around is very nice. The house itself is calm and very well-kept. We particularly appreciated that both bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom and the adult and baby swimming pool next door.

We went as a family of three joined by the grandparents and each had their own little area without disturbing the others. There are some childrens toys and everything you need to feel at home during your holidays including washing machine and ironing board if you don't want to take too many clothes with you. All in all, a great holiday.

My husband, our 2 daughters (aged 4 and 2.5yrs) and I had a lovely time at Casa Cuba. We'd been to the area in 2006, before children were on the scene and loved it. We realised then it would be a great place for a family to holiday and were really pleased to find this villa. It really was perfect for us, we were able to relax in the evenings whilst the girls slept (although generally quite late as we took to visiting the main square for the evening entertainment), the pool was amazing and the terraces (especially the roof terrace) offered the best possible views.

The equipment provided was more than I have ever had in a holiday home, even in the UK and the property was very obviously loved.

One touch that I particularly liked were the pictures painted by one of the owners - they really were amazing. The whole experience was one not to be missed. We would hope to return again at some point in the future but probably not for some years.

If you like to eat out its easy enough to drive into the town or indeed to most places on the Algarve. One night we ate out in Silves, there was a lovely fish restaurant called Rui - the locals were queuing to get in on the Saturday night and I can understand why. We had the Portuguese equivalent of Paella although it was just shellfish and rice but it was exquisite. In Carvoeiro itself we highly recommend Ele & Ela, booking is suggested as it gets busy, we frequented it on our previous visit and were not disappointed on our return.

We also went to Lagos where we took a boat trip (we used Bom Dia) on a sailboat (although there was insufficient wind so they had to use the engines!) which was amazing. You transfer onto small boats to see the caves. Well worth it and deals are to be had, you need to be prepared to play the various companies along the docks off against each other.

For us this was a much more relaxing holiday than we could have expected with 2 young children. As everything was available we were able to make the most of our time and enjoy our 10 days together. It helped that the sun shone, it certainly helped that the villa was so well equiped and that the pools were so amazing.

I can't recommend Casa Cuba highly enough. We booked our flights through Opodo and got great deals and used the company recommended by June for our hire car, which was great although the childs seat was a little to be desired (grubby and not very well secured) so it might be worth taking your own.
